About us

The International Association of Crime Analysts was formed in 1990 to help crime analysts around the world improve their skills and make valuable contacts, to help law enforcement agencies make the best use of crime analysis, and to advocate for standards of performance and technique within the profession itself. We accomplish these goals through training, networking, and publications. The IACA has over 3800 members representing more than 60 countries. Members include crime analysts, intelligence analysts, police officers of all ranks, professionals in related private sector companies, educators, and students. It is governed by an elected board of representatives from its members, and all board and staff members are volunteers.

Crime Analyst at Fairfax County Police Department Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (CLEA)

For the second consecutive year, I was awarded second place in the Tactical Bulletin category for the International Association of Crime Analysts’ Analytical Product Contest. This one is extra special though. The bulletin I submitted was for a large scale commercial burglary series I identified and worked earlier this year. That case is not only my favorite one that I’ve worked on, but the work I put into it is the work I’m the most proud of to date. To be recognized for that case specifically is extremely rewarding. Thank you International Association of Crime Analysts for the recognition and for putting on such an amazing conference! #IACA #crimeanalyst2024 #crimeanalysis

I don’t think I could be more excited about this presentation if I tried. After it ended, I had people from literally all over the world (had conversations with people from Barbados and Ukraine) talking SNA and NodeXL with me. I also networked with a lot of people from parts of the United States I’ve yet to support. Incredibly excited and grateful for this first opportunity to present at IACA!
