Dallin Everton is one of our 2024 summer fellows. He is from Gilbert, Arizona and has a background in American history and literature. This Summer, Dallin had two externship experiences: one at the Arizona Supreme Court, and the other at the Office of General Counsel for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His responsibilities included legal research, drafting and editing memos, and cite checking opinions. He is interested in litigation and hopes to become a skilled advocate for religious freedom.

Mary Bowers is one of our 2024 summer fellows. She is from Kaysville, Utah and has a background in economics and business. As part of her fellowship, she externed in Tokyo, Japan, working on issues ranging from real estate to data privacy. She is interested in international transactional work and is excited to approach the future with an increased understanding of how religious freedom can improve outcomes everywhere.

Today, we wrapped the second annual workshop focusing on interreligious perspectives on human dignity. "AI, Human Dignity, and Religion: Perspectives on Freedoms, Responsibilities, and Opportunities" was held at Christ Church, Oxford, and will result in a special edition of The Review of Faith & International Affairs. Participants gathered to share diverse perspectives on the relationship between AI and human dignity, especially vis-à-vis religion, and to receive feedback from one another to refine their final articles. The event was organized by Brett Scharffs of ICLRS, Paul Martens of the Baylor Ethics Initiative at Baylor University, and Dicky Sofjan of Gadjah Mada University and the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies; with support from Dennis Hoover, editor-in-chief of The Review of Faith & International Affairs.
