About us
The National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) is the only national organization exclusively devoted to funding research that helps increase understanding of gambling disorder and youth gambling and find effective methods of treatment for the disorder. Founded in 1996 as a separate 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the NCRG’s mission is to help individuals and families affected by gambling disorder by supporting the finest peer-reviewed, scientific research into gambling disorder; encouraging the application of new research findings to improve prevention, diagnostic, intervention and treatment strategies; and advancing public education about gambling disorder and responsible gaming. More than $27 million has been committed to the NCRG, through contributions from the casino gaming industry, equipment manufacturers, vendors, Native American casinos, related organizations and individuals.

Identifying mechanisms of change in psychotherapeutic treatment models has significant implications for addictive disorders. Dr. Lee will discuss her research showing that Congruence Couple Therapy can have better outcomes than individual-based therapies for clients with gambling problems. Dr. Bonnie Lee, PhD, RMFT-S, RSW, is a professor in the Addictions Counseling Program and research affiliate at the University of Lethbridge. She brings over 25 years of counseling experience with couples, families and individuals struggling with a wide range of issues, including alcohol and substance use, gambling, gaming, over-eating and pornography. Learning Objectives: As a result of this program, learners will be able to: - Identify mechanisms of change in psychotherapeutic treatment - Describe the principles of Congruence Couple Therapy. - Apply Congruence Couple Therapy in practice.
