This past week we had the great opportunity to head to the University of Oregon for our annual civil war pitch! Two of our exec team members Caleb Hall and Seth Bowman analyzed the Monster Beverage Corp. (MNST) for the competition their report can be seen below!

Sub-regional round here we come!

Last Friday, four members of OSIG traveled to Portland to compete in the CFA Society Portland regional challenge, pitching a buy on Columbia Banking System (Ticker: COLB). After competing against teams from George Fox University, Pacific University, Portland State University, University of Oregon, University of Portland, Washington State University - Vancouver and Willamette University, we took home first place! The team is excited to be moving on to the next round.

OSIG was fortunate to be back in New York and experience some incredible company visits. A first time in Manhattan for many, members were able to hear about financial careers over a wide variety of specialties, including asset management, corporate finance, investment banking and more. This trip wouldn't have been possible without our generous donors and hosts, including Christopher Glynn, Tyler Wood, Lukas Scheiffarth, Nolan Eggert, James Wu and Lauren Rutkowski. It was a true learn by doing experience. We can't wait for next year!

OSIG is excited to be heading back to New York this winter! Since OSIG’s inception in 2007, distinguished OSIG members have participated in this annual trip with support from our generous donors and the College of Business. Donor funding toward our $7,000 goal will finance air travel, subway transportation, partial support for meals and hotel costs for the trip.
