  • Raising awareness about mental health is crucial for securing adequate funding and ensuring competent care. Increased awareness helps break stigma, leading to more open conversations and a greater understanding of mental health issues. This, in turn, encourages more funding for mental health programs and services, enabling them to offer comprehensive and culturally competent care. Advocacy and education play a pivotal role in sustaining these essential resources and supporting those in need. • As we recognized BIPOC Voices throughout July, it is important to remember to exercise this empathy and being an active listener to experiences throughout the year. Here are three things you can do right now: First, educate yourself on the unique challenges faced by BIPOC communities. Understanding cultural nuances and systemic issues is key to effective advocacy. Second, support BIPOC-led mental health organizations through donations or volunteer work. These organizations are vital in providing culturally competent care. Finally, amplify BIPOC voices by sharing their stories and resources on your social media. Your advocacy can create real change. #bipocvoices #bipocmentalhealth #jeffersoncenter
