National Preparedness Month is an observance each September to raise awareness of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time. Here are some things you can do to prepare: ✔️ Create an emergency plan that includes what to do before, during, and after an emergency. ✔️ Create an evacuation route and shelter plan. ✔️ Build an emergency kit. Gather enough supplies to last at least three days, including water, non-perishable food, medicine, flashlights, extra batteries, and phone chargers. ✔️ Get involved and find opportunities to to support community preparedness. We are excited for Multifamily NW Spectrum 2024! Two of JRJ's very own are teaching classes this Thursday. 1️⃣ Lisa Rose, along with Paul Jordan with Cascade Management Inc., will teach participants essential skills and strategies for preparing for natural disasters. Topics will include risk assessment, emergency kits, communication plans, evacuation routes, and first aid basics. Through interactive activities and real-life scenarios, attendees will build confidence and competence in executing their plans when disaster strikes. Join Lisa and Paul at 9am in room E143-144 to ensure you’re ready for whatever nature throws your way! 2️⃣ Brad Schmautz will be discussing the proper protocol for handling biohazards in case of an emergency. By participating in an interactive Bingo activity, attendees will gain insight into identifying the severity of biohazards, the correct steps for cleaning them up, and the appropriate time to involve an expert. Join Brad at 1:40pm in room D137-138 to enhance your confidence in dealing with biohazard situations. See you all there!
