Plant Tours: 238, 239 and 240 Companies: K&S Wire Products, Inc., Industrial Control Systems, and EaglePicher Technologies Locations: Neosho and Joplin, MO Yesterday, the MAM team, along with some of our partners and members, visited three incredible MAM members throughout Southwest Missouri. We started the morning at K&S Wire Products in Neosho, MO. K&S manufacturers a variety of custom wire products including carts, baskets, trays, tables, shelving, fencing and more. As a Missouri SHARP certified company, K&S goes to great lengths to protect their employees while on the job. Thanks Grant Schwartz, MBA. for hosting us. Our second visit was at Industrial Controls Systems, Inc. (ICS) in Joplin, MO. This team is the real deal when it comes to control panels, industrial automation, PLCs, data collection/reporting, customer service, and training. ICS's real-time machine monitoring gives their clients a detailed picture of their operations, highlighting bottlenecks, machine downtime and areas to improve. Thank you Phil Hail Sr., Blake McCollough, and Brian Price for the incredible tour and education. We ended the day with a tour of long-time MAM member, EaglePicher Technologies in Joplin, MO, a manufacturer of battery cells and systems for aerospace and defense vehicles. They have played a vital role in US space and military operations and recently hosted the commander of the Orion Artemis II Mission, NASA's first crewed mission to establishing a long-term presence at the Moon. The Missouri Association of Manufacturers was on the road yesterday, over in Neosho connecting with a few Members. Although we have a Plant Tour at K&S Wire Products, Inc. scheduled next week, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a sneak peak and tag along with Missouri's Lt. Governor, Mike Kehoe and his wife, Claudia. (More on K&S Wire Products after next week's tour.) Traveling east to Mt. Vernon, the Lt. Governor invited me on his bus to discuss the manufacturing landscape in Missouri - what we are seeing, the issues and challenges, as well as how he can support industry moving forward. An incredible opportunity! Next stop was at, MAM Member, Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center where Scott George and Brian George hosted the community to meet and visit with the Lt. Governor.
