Klass, a 47-year health care veteran, has been with Kaleida Health for 20 years and has served in a variety of roles. Paul Markel, RN, has been promoted to director of long-term care at HighPointe on Michigan. Markel, who most recently served as assistant administrator at HighPointe, recently obtained his New York State nursing home administrator’s license and has assumed the role of administrator of record for HighPointe effective September 3, 2024. Including his time with Kaleida Health, Markel has worked in long-term care for more than 25 years. A team of nurse leaders from Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital spent a day in August helping to build a house with Niagara Area Habitat for Humanity in Niagara Falls. Niagara Area Habitat relies on the vital help from volunteers like this team to support families and individuals in need of decent, affordable housing.
