🇺🇸 Reflecting on Independence Day in America isn't just about fireworks and flags—it's a moment to honor the resilience of Indigenous peoples, whose land stewardship and wisdom in regenerative agriculture sustain us all. 🌱 Today, many Indigenous communities continue to fight for sovereignty and reconciliation. Embracing regenerative agriculture, rooted in Indigenous wisdom, honors their stewardship of the land and offers a path to coexist and nurture nature for a thriving future.💚 Watch 'Possibilities of Regeneration', a story about how we, as humans, innately have the power to regenerate our earth: https://lnkd.in/ePjYKGbq 🔗

We love this post from our CEO Evan Harrison! 👏 Check out our free Regenerative Resource “Land of Labels,” to better understand food labels when shopping! #RegenerativeAgriculture https://lnkd.in/gr3Ep3g2

Two years ago when I joined the team Kiss The Ground I had A LOT to learn about our food system. A common dinner conversation with family and friends became 'what are we actually eating', and 'where did our food truly come from'? Here I am on my electric Vespa (this is as much about traffic and parking in LA as the reduction of emissions!) heading to the market, trying to do the right thing, yet it is incredibly confusing,... and I speak with experts daily. Each product has numerous labels and terms, for the average shopper, it's incredibly misleading. Our team makes available free regenerative resources to help us navigate the aisles, check out our “Land of Labels,” which breaks down the claims in terms we can all digest. #RegenerativeAgriculture https://lnkd.in/gr3Ep3g2

👨🌾 Farmer Wil Crombie stewards Organic Compound, a regenerative farm and homestead in Cannon City, MN. Together with his wife Carly, sister-in-law Crisa, and daughter Hazel, they have planted a thriving hazelnut agroforest, running Tree Range Farms chickens under the canopy. 🌰 Wil wishes people knew farming was more than just growing food. He believes "Farming is exercise. Farming is meditation. Farming is activism. It is the best way to be alone, and the best way to be with people." 🌍 🧘♂️Wil tells us his favorite place in nature is his own body. He says, "I am nature. I enjoy being in a forest or in a body of water and contemplating my place in it all." 💚 A special thanks to our sponsor of this episode of #5withaFarmer, Anthropologie 🌿 🎥 Watch this episode by visiting this link: https://lnkd.in/d9rTHYpU #5withafarmer #kisstheground #agroforestry #treerangechicken

🌱 Last week, our team had an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact at FarmerJawn in West Chester, Pennsylvania! FarmerJawn has built a model that enables regenerative organic food production by and for underserved communities, and is the largest black-woman owned regenerative organic produce farm in America. At FarmerJawn's 128-acre farm, Home Office employees rolled up their sleeves to support the summer harvest preparations. Our volunteer day was a testament to our commitment to regenerative agriculture and our partnership with Kiss The Ground. It was inspiring to see firsthand how our efforts contribute to a healthier environment and support local food systems. A huge thank you to Christa Barfield, Public Health Innovator, FarmerJawn & Friends Foundation Fund and to everyone who participated and contributed to making this day a success! 🌾

🌞 Garden looking a lil' tired? Here are 3 ways to make your garden soil healthier: 🌿 Feed your soil: Adding compost, animal poo💩, coffee grounds, or mulch to your soil can help build up soil organic matter (SOM), a vital component of a thriving garden ecosystem. SOM holds in moisture, stores nutrients, feeds important soil organisms, and is one of the best indicators of a healthy garden! 🌿 Cover your soil: Make sure to protect your soil from wind, rain, and UV radiation by keeping it covered year-round by cover crops (which also balance the soil’s nutrient profile and enhance biodiversity). 🌿 Test your soil: Yes, you can test your soil with a home soil testing kit! You'll then know which nutrients to supplement your garden with so you can tailor your cover crops and composts to best meet your needs. 🧑🌾 Want to learn more? Check out our regenerative gardening course, which will teach you the basic skills, tools, practices, and knowledge required to grow in any space, container, or climate. All levels are welcome regardless of experience! Regenerative Gardening Course: https://lnkd.in/g6sMfgPY 💚

10 years ago Diane and I created a music-intensive fitness event at the world famous Roxy Theater in LA, we called it RockSweat. Clubs with killer sound systems and lights sit vacant weekend mornings, why not sweat in community via a HIIT workout choreographed to an eclectic live music mix? At the time, I was in corporate music and media, traveling regularly-- this outlet was pretty epic for us, for years... beyond our wellness goals, we created a pretty euphoric event together. A healthy balance between work and personal interests is vital to me. At Kiss The Ground I feel so fortunate to align my passion for personal health with our mission, promoting regenerative agriculture and healthy soil as a viable solution for our wellness, water and climate crisis. #wellness #wellnessandwork

One of our partners, Mars Pet Nutrition, is on a mission to create ‘A Better World for Pets’. They started by sponsoring some of our short form stories and then we did some internal education work with the Nutro team-- they are investing $5 million into empowering growers in their supply chain to help with the transition to Regenerative practices, and ultimately, healthy soil-- a meaningful solution for our wellness, water and climate crisis. By supporting soil health and regenerative agriculture, Mars is also supporting strong food systems and a healthy planet. #MarsPetNutrition #KissTheGroundPartner #SoilHealth #RegenerativeAgriculture #Regeneration

I've worked for large companies with a mandate to drive meaningful change. It's never easy, but once you enroll key members (of all rank) across the org with the 'mission' it becomes fun, contagious and the collective energy is unstoppable. Importantly, the impact is massive. At Kiss The Ground we partner with earnest companies of all sizes, Mars Pet Nutrition is a tremendous partner and will make a meaningful contribution to the Regenerative movement over time, with action. 🌳 Agroforestry farmer Brooke Bonner's advice to her younger self is to save money, get some land, and plant some trees... STAT! ☕️☀️ While she is not the type of farmer to start working at the crack of dawn and prefers a slower morning (with an abundance of coffee), she is certainly a do-it-yourself person. She even designed and built her own house when she was 24, without an architect license! 🐎 While Drinkers of the Wind was named after her step-dad's legacy of raising Arabian horses, Brooke told us how it's a proper name for a regenerative farm. "That's what plants do when they convert air into energy and sequester carbon in the soil. Magic!" 🎥 Visit the link below to watch more farmer stories! https://lnkd.in/d9rTHYpU 🌻 Farmers, apply to be featured in 5 with a Farmer by clicking "Get Featured" on our 5 with a Farmer page. 🌿 A special thanks to our sponsor of this episode of #5withaFarmer, Anthropologie 💚

🌦️🌸 Farming isn't a perfect process. Actually, it's far from perfect. But it is a wildly beautiful process, which is reflected by the experience of VT farmer Pablo Elliot at Hill Farm Vermont. 🫑 Share in the comments what vegetable CSA (community supported agriculture) introduced you to, and tag the farm who grew it! 🧑🌾 🎥 Visit this link for more farmer stories: https://lnkd.in/d9rTHYpU 📸: Tony Modu 💚 A special thanks to our sponsor of this episode of #5withaFarmer, Anthropologie 🌿 🧑🌾 P.S. - If you are a land steward, visit our website to apply for the chance to be featured in #5withaFarmer!
