Last Saturday, Kiwanis San Diego joined forces with the awesome Academy of Our Lady of Peace Key Club for a hands-on adventure with San Diego Habitat for Humanity👷✨ We rolled up our sleeves and got crafty, building not one, but TWO playhouses for some truly deserving families in San Diego 🥰 And fun fact: Kiwanis San Diego sponsored the build of 57 playhouses across the county 🏡 💕 Teaming up with each other to support our community rocks, and we love spreading joy and love one playhouse at a time. Kudos to our volunteers: Monica Ball • Gordon Boerner • Karen Bower • Glen Honig • Traci Knight • Emily Moberly • Karina Sousa • Harrison Trubitt • Eric Wever + all the students/kiddos! High-fives all around! 🙌

Kids Need Kiwanis. Your Community Needs Kiwanis.
About us
For over 100 years, Kiwanis San Diego has consisted of a diverse spectrum of business, government, military, and community leaders who gather to promote fellowship and camaraderie while making the San Diego region, including Baja California, a better place for all. Our members are ordinary people performing extraordinary work. We are creative with our ideas. We are generous with our time. We are passionate about making a difference. And we have fun along the way. We partner with many local organizations and give a significant amount of time and money annually to projects supporting youth in our community. The Kiwanis Club of San Diego works in concert with the San Diego Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc. (the "Foundation"). The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) foundation incorporated in California that annually provides more than $180,000 to projects and organizations in the community. In 1998 Joe Sigurdson served on the Davis Grossmont YMCA Board and as a part of their capital campaign he approached Fletcher Hills Kiwanis for a donation. They said they would donate if he joined the club. He served in the Fletcher Hills Club for 16 years. In 2004 Joe and his wife Nancy moved to Kensington and Joe joined the Downtown Club and has been an active member for the last 20 years. Joe Sigurdson is the cofounder of Boys to Men Mentoring Network. He has worked with thousands of men and boys around the world. He knows that inside every boy is a desire to be a good man. Boys to Men has developed their approach to helping boys become better men by listening accepting and encouraging them for who they are. These principles are the result of Joe’s path through life and recovery. We are so proud to call Joe one of our members!

Justin Frisco, Brittany Curran and Gordon Boerner of the Kiwanis San Diego Club/Foundation were honored to share breakfast at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance with several of our many 2024 college scholarship recipients at the San Diego Foundation annual celebration event last Sunday. Definitely bullish on the future with these young adults representing leaders of tomorrow.
