KML Law Group, P.C., is thrilled to announce the return of a former managing attorney, Jill Jenkins to her new role as Managing Shareholder of Pennsylvania Operations. Jill has diverse and expansive experience in the mortgage servicing industry. She is coming from the largest residential mortgage subservicer in the country, as a Business Development Director responsible for negotiating the contracts of large mortgage companies and credit unions across the United States. Recently, Jill completed a contract negotiation with a client holding over $61B in assets. Prior to that, Jill was an integral part of the KML team for close to a decade, first handling secured creditor’s rights litigation, home retention, conciliations, and Sheriff’s sales which landed her on ALFN’s “Picture the Future” List during that time. Jill then took on the role of Managing Attorney, overseeing Pennsylvania Foreclosure operations for several years. She spent a considerable amount of time working as a member of the Mortgage Foreclosure Steering Committee of Philadelphia, and the Philadelphia Bar Association where she held a variety of positions, including President and Chair of the Real Property Section in 2018. When asked about her return to KML, Jill said, “I’m ecstatic to be coming back to my roots at the firm, where I can make an immediate impact with my unique combination of Pennsylvania specific default experience and years of experience working with mortgage banking clients, which gave me a comprehensive view of the entire mortgage servicing industry. It truly feels like coming home again, and I can’t wait to get started!” KML is confident that Jill will personify the firm’s mission to provide sound and compliant legal representation while maintaining a high level of respect and consideration for everyone with which we interact. Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Jill Jenkins back to the firm as Managing Shareholder. Jill’s hiring provides further depth and capacity for KML. Did you know? New Jersey just passed the Community Wealth Preservation Act expanding access for certain classes of buyers to sheriff sale properties by giving them priority access and more time to obtain financing. This new program poses operational challenges for those in mortgage default servicing, including requiring sale upset amounts to be provided with the Notice of Sale, and capping increases to those amounts. KML is here to help clients navigate these changes. Please reach out with questions you may have in operationalizing this new law.
