This morning we welcomed back 72 students who have committed to come back to campus early to think about and intentionally explore their future careers with excitement, possibility and promise. Over the next two days they will break the career planning process down into small manageable prices as they refelct in their past and imagine and build their futures. The Big Red Connections off-campus orientation program kicked off on Friday, 8/23 with a morning spent learning and connecting at Accenture Columbus. What a great kickoff to the program - I can't wait to hear more from students when they return to campus! Many thanks to Abby Carleton for making this visit so engaging for Denison students.

My Multifaceted Summer at KGL Foundation! This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern at the KGL Foundation, and it felt like five internships in one! Rotating through Programming, Administration, Monitoring and Evaluation, PR and Marketing, and social media, I gained invaluable insights into running a foundation smoothly and effectively. One highlight was the blood donation and free health screening drive for the underserved community of Adukrom, Akuapem. We provided essential healthcare to over 1000 residents and raised awareness about the critical need for blood donations in Ghana. I was thrilled to see photos I had taken from the event featured in local and national news both in print and online! Another favorite was the Men's Mental Health Month initiative. The foundation's first event focused on men's mental health, including a video campaign, a talk with leading mental health professionals, and free counseling sessions for staff. This ignited my interest in the mental health treatment gap for men in Ghana. These experiences have broadened my understanding of the importance of behind-the-scenes work to make impactful events happen. A huge thank you to the KGL Foundation staff; Elliot Dadey,Nii Ankonu Annorbah-Sarpei, Edwin Osmond-Lamptey (He/Him),Raphael Sackitey,Priscilla Oppong Da-costa,Kwasi Gray (Efezino Kwasi Osigar),Kenny Zigah for their guidance and to the Knowlton Center For Career Exploration Denison Internship Program for their support . This internship was a wonderful experience, and I’m excited to take these lessons forward in my career.

Fall 2024 Journey Program is in full swing - helping students become intentional about their lives and utilizing their time at Denison in the most powerful way possible. Students are spending time reflecting on what fulfills them, determining how to be successful, and crafting a detailed plan for the rest of their time at Denison. During this program students are: ✔ Engaging in an immersive career exploration experience starting by reflecting deeply on core elements of who they are ✔ Identifying a career thesis ✔ Learning how to obtain the information they need in order to make career planning decisions ✔ Developing a career planning roadmap for their remaining Denison experience and know-how to implement their roadmap and how to adjust when necessary ✔ Completing/updating their resumes, a draft cover letter, and their LinkedIn profiles #CareerExploration #CareerPlanning #CareerSuccess #Career #Professional #CareerPlanning #LinkedIn #ResumeBuilding #CollegeCareer #StudentSuccess
