We’re proud to announce we’ve extended our sustainable agriculture programme with a new partnership with one of the UK’s leading providers of agronomy, environmental, precision and nutritional services, FARMACY PLC (part of H L Hutchinson Limited). To kick off the new partnership, we welcomed our network of Tyrrells and McCoys potato farmers at two local events this week to engage with Farmacy agronomists. The event brought everyone together to share knowledge on improving soil health, biodiversity, sustainability and regenerative techniques using the latest technology. This builds on an already established programme where share current best practice principles with farmers and, importantly, overlay this knowledge with a field-by-field approach so we can best support each farm’s specific needs and challenges. Sustainable agriculture is a key component of our People & Planet commitments to deliver 30% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2032. Our iconic bear-shaped snack, Pom-Bear, has launched two new tasty flavours! We are so excited that our Cheese and BBQ Pom-Bears are starting to arrive on shelves this week, resplendent in their new brand look.  Both new flavours, BBQ and Cheese, are non-HFSS, vegan, gluten free and contain no artificial colours or flavourings. They are available in multi-pack formats, with the Cheese also available in single packs. We've been on the edge of our seats this year, enjoying another fantastic tournament of #thehundred cricket. With the Eliminator and Finals matches on this weekend, we know there are some cracking games in store!  We've shared hundreds of Hundred tickets with our colleagues to enjoy the excitement first hand at matches. Our Teesside team did it in style with a bus trip to see Manchester Originals play Northern Superchargers at Headingley. The Leeds ground is 90 minutes from our operation so organising transport helped more people to get there to enjoy a brilliant day out with colleagues, family and friends. To help our colleagues focus on mental health, and in particular, gain a deeper awareness of male suicide, we hosted former Big Brother winner Anthony Hutton at our Tanfield site last week. Anthony’s Never Throw In The Towel Project aims to raise awareness of the dangers men face in not talking about issues they may be encountering. The message: talking is a strength not a weakness. The project's name was inspired by the advice he received from his late grandmother. Anthony’s story is personal; the former reality TV star won Big Brother in 2005 at the age of 23, however his rapid rise to fame and fortune left him struggling with substance use and mental health challenges. After seeking professional help, he set up a hairdressing business where he found himself helping his clients in the barber's chair by talking about their daily struggles. As the project continued to build momentum, he set up free male retreats; the first one attended by nine men, growing to seventy two attendees at the latest event.   Our colleagues were incredibly grateful to Anthony for coming in and talking to us – both as a group and as individuals where they could talk along with getting a hair cut. The session had a huge impact and the feedback has been incredibly positive.   Anthony's message was extremely powerful and his own experience battling depression resonated with so many of our colleagues.
