About us
The Kentucky SHRM Council is comprised of approximately 40 HR Volunteer Leaders dedicated to advancing and serving the HR profession in the State of Kentucky. Our mission is to promote the advancement of HR by supporting chapters, energizing and engaging members and collaborating as a State Advocate with external partners. Our volunteers give of their time, energy and expertise to advocate key HR initiates advancing the HR profession and having a successful impact to the bottom line of Kentucky employers. Our State Council will build on a foundation of 3 C’s to help in advancing our mission: Communication-Listen and Discuss key HR issues impacting Kentucky. Commitment-Develop Initiates to address the key HR issues. Collaboration-Work directly and closely with our Local Chapters to ensure they have a voice and build a network of resources. Day one of the 40th Annual KYSHRM Conference was a blast! #KYSHRM24 Steve Browne did not disappoint with his talk: Be a Change Catalyst in your Organization!! Proven Ways to Drive Sustainable Change. If I manage change, it’s already happened. Read that again. DRIVE change. Don’t manage it. If you talk poorly about those around you, that’s how you feel about them. Be full, not busy. Focus on the things that matter. Be a human first. Listening is easy. Choose to do it. HR is the only profession that works with every person in the organization. We don’t have departments. We have work. If you don’t change the semantics, you’re building boxes. Discuss, not defend. Let people share their ideas. No agenda at meetings. Let the people set the discussions. Stop collaborate and listen We talk about letting people fail and then we punish them when they do.
