I've been designing AI-powered systems that empower workers to monitor and quantify their algorithmic bosses. Through this work, we've uncovered that a significant number of gig workers earn less than minimum wage. We've brought this crucial information to US and Mexican senators, prompting them to challenge big tech companies on their treatment of gig workers and to advocate for systems that better support this global workforce. Additionally, I've created culturally aware AI systems that cater to the diverse needs of gig workers worldwide. I'm privileged to stand alongside Ricardo Baeza-Yates, a trailblazer in AI research across industry and academia, who’s planting new seeds of innovation across LATAM.
