In 2008 I had the opportunity to participate in the LEAD San Diego Program as a member of the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. It was a great opportunity to learn about the San Diego region and make great connections with mid- to senior-level managers and leaders across a variety of occupational fields. As part of this 10 month program we were fortunate to work with selected non profits to share some of our skills to help them accomplish their goals. If you have an opportunity to take part in this progtam either as a participant or a non profit, I would highly recommend it.
Nonprofits, bring us your special project wish list! ✨ Each year, participants in our Impact program take on a community service project as part of their coursework. These projects range from marketing and branding plans, research projects, business plan creation, and everything in between. We are currently seeking project proposals from community-based 501c3 organizations serving low-income and/or traditionally underrepresented communities in the greater San Diego region for our 2024 Impact program. If your organization has a project that would benefit the community, we encourage you to apply to be a Leadership Action Team Partner! An absolute pleasure to be of service, LEAD San Diego. I do very much appreciate your inclusion of an alumnus hailing from hallowed antiquity. Absent the perspectives of Marcus Vergilius Eurysaces and Marcus Tullius Cicero, I suppose I am the next best thing. The current assemblage of prospects left me both inspired and awestruck, as was the case with my fellow interviewers when they first came through as candidates. It certainly causes one to be thankful that standards were far more slapdash in 2008. I have a tendency to slide in just under the wire, as it were. Thank you for allowing me to regale the new class with stories of chariot races, the ancient senate, stone tablets, and the LEAD that was.
Interviews for the Impact Cohort of 2025 are happening now!
