Not all surprises on site are bad.   Senior Superintendent Daniel Cummings received a great surprise this week when Staff Zone presented him with a Safety Excellence Award at the Kaiser Permanente Cumberland Medical Office Building project. The exclusive award celebrates Daniel's safe working practices and another year without any safety incidents. Daniel supplements his workforce with Staff Zone personnel during peak periods of activity, and he is committed to protecting them along with all trade partners, employees, and visitors on site.   A strong leader interested in educating and supporting the next generation of construction talent, Daniel hired Devin from Staff Zone after seeing his potential in the field. 

What luck that our annual intern appreciation event fell on National Intern Day! Internships are a two-way street. This summer, our interns learned how many different people collaborate to deliver complex construction projects in the field. Along the way, they gave us feedback on their experiences that will help us grow and evolve our intern program year after year. We are so thankful for our summer interns and their willingness to spend their summers with us in the field and the office. We wish them the best and look forward to working with them again in the future.

We're in our 25th anniversary era and reflecting on all the extraordinary people, projects, and experiences that have led us to this significant milestone - starting with our CEO and Founder Meredith Leapley. Since 1999, she has led our team to expand our expertise and impact in our community. We are grateful for her leadership, enthusiasm, and great taste in music.

What a night! We had so much fun celebrating our first Excellence in Construction Awards as new members of the ABC of Georgia. Celebrating 25 years of service to our clients and community, Leapley Construction is proud to build projects like the GATV BioSpark Labs where brilliant minds are making breakthroughs to fight cancer and improve human life. Thank you to the ABC of Georgia for recognizing the work of our team, JLL, and our many talented partners with an EIC Award for this 11,200 project lab expansion project. We are honored to share this recognition with so many builders who safely deliver great work in our hometown. Congratulations to all the EIC Award winners!

Throughout our 25-year history, we have been proud members of multiple industry organizations that connect us to other innovators in our field. As we have continued to grow and expand our offerings, we recently joined the ABC of Georgia. Leapley has since been warmly welcomed into its network, including recognition in this year’s Excellence in Construction Awards for the Visa Atlanta project in Midtown.   Leapley delivered the new 112,626 SF corporate workplace in partnership with CBRE and a trusted team of specialty trade partners while exceeding Visa’s diverse supplier inclusion goals.   We had so much fun at the ceremony and look forward to deepening our involvement in the ABC of Georgia in the future. We got a head start on our Independence Day hotdog consumption. In celebration of July 4th, Leapley hosted a hotdog lunch for everyone working on the Kaiser Permanente medical office building renovation project. Whatever you're grilling this week, we hope you have a doggone good holiday.

(AGC Georgia) Build Georgia Merit Award Spotlight: SKIM Atlanta   SKIM works with companies worldwide to understand consumer decision-making and drive growth. We loved building this 7,550 SF collaborative workplace for SKIM’s local operations, including the custom round seating space, glass front conferencing, huddle rooms, vivid break areas, and flexible working options.   Congratulations to Leapley team members Mike Buchanan, Craig R., and Richard Bradley, SKIM, Planning Interiors Inc., designer Bruno Vermeersch, and all of our specialty trade partners who contributed to the successful delivery of this colorful workplace project. 

Associated General Contractors of Georgia, Inc. (AGC Georgia) Build Georgia Merit Award Spotlight: Micron Atlanta Engineering Center   Our expert construction teams love a technically challenging build. Despite equipment delays and a critical helicopter delivery that had to be rescheduled twice due to weather, Leapley Construction built the three-floor, first-generation space on time and under budget.    Leaning into the industrial aesthetic of the first-generation building, the 69,000 SF corporate environment features fabric walls, wooden slat ceilings, custom reception millwork, and a variety of collaboration and workspace types to meet the needs of the diverse team.    Congratulations to Leapley team members Eric Johnston, Camille Cipriani, and David Goodson, Cushman & Wakefield, Gensler, and all our specialty trade partners who collaborated to build this challenging, award-winning project.   

Associated General Contractors of Georgia, Inc. (AGC Georgia) Build Georgia Merit Award Spotlight: Gensler Atlanta Delivered under budget and ahead of schedule, the Gensler Atlanta project earned recognition from both the AGC and the IIDA Georgia Chapter as the Best of the Best. Leapley Construction delivered the one floor, 21,136 SF corporate workplace build-out while exceeding supplier inclusion goals and achieving LEED Gold Certification. We enjoyed hosting the Kennesaw State University Women in Construction on this site to engage the next generation of industry leaders and supporting our friends in the transformative delivery of this midtown workplace.
