Together We Can Do More
About us
Life Science Cares is a collective effort of the life science industry to help address the impact of poverty on our neighbors in the greater Philadelphia, Boston, and San Diego areas. Through uniting the human and financial resources of life science companies and industry leaders, we support non-profit organizations that do the best work in fighting poverty and providing educational opportunity in our community. We work with organizations doing work in the areas of basic human survival (hunger, homelessness, domestic abuse, crime prevention, etc.), education (STEM education, college preparation and college success, educational enrichment and inspiration, etc.) and sustainability (job creation, job training, mentoring, and economic development.)

Volunteering is not only a key component to our mission at Life Science Cares, but has often been referred to as a national pastime intrinsic to American culture. Hats off to our volunteers and our country as we all celebrate July 4th. Check out how you can give back https://lnkd.in/gZkbSGbM

We are kicking off the back-to-school season already here at Life Science Cares, to ensure enough time to get backpacks and school supplies to under-resourced students in San Diego. The team at Breakthrough Properties volunteered to put together backpacks filled with critical school supplies and donate them to our partner, Home Start Inc.. Home Start supports 100s of underresourced families across San Diego County and will get the backpacks directly to the students who need them. Thanks to Breakthrough Properties, not only will children be prepared to start the new school year, but families will be relieved of a significant financial burden to provide costly school supplies for all their children. THANK YOU to this team! Special thanks to Stephanie Mount for all her support in this event. If you're a LSCSD corporate partner that would like to host a backpack drive in your office, reach out to [email protected]!

Thank you Josh Schimmer of Cantor Fitzgerald, for your continued support of Life Science Cares and for being a part of our Board of Advisors. Josh recently joined a panel at Barrio Logan College Institute sharing his career path and advising students preparing to apply to colleges this fall. It was an insightful conversation about the life science investment world and we are thankful to have Advisors like Josh giving back and supporting the next generation of leaders.

Thank you Belharra Therapeutics for holding a "Spring Cleaning" drive in your office to get important items to underserved youth in our community! Today wrapped up Belharra's book drive for young students living in affordable housing units with Hope Through Housing Foundation , and professional clothing drive for the college students of MANA de San Diego. These items provide important support for youth literacy and learning, and for young adults embarking on their professional careers! Big thank you to the entire team who came together to donate items and make these drives a big success. Special shout out to Amy Klova for her work in making this event happen.
