  • Last week our Executive Director, Donna Kirtland, along with board members Dr. Joann Jones and Linda Smith, attended the South Lake Chamber of Commerce breakfast. The presentation featured updates Lake County Schools, Lake-Sumter State College and Lake Technical College. We were so proud of LSSC as they presented their new pathways in nursing and respiratory care, which were made possible through their grant with the Live Well Foundation.

  • Sleep in Heavenly Peace is receiving $10,000 for more than 40 fully furnished twin beds that will be provided to bedless children in the South Lake community. We are profoundly moved by this project's mission and are eager to see the joy and comfort it will bring to so many young lives. This initiative not only offers a place to sleep but also a sense of security and dignity, and we look forward to the positive impact these beds will have on the well-being of the children who receive them.

  • IMPOWER Inc. is receiving $37,793 for a program to expand access to outpatient behavioral health services for underserved children, adolescents and adults residing in South Lake County. Services will be provided through a telehealth platform. We are deeply inspired by the potential of this program to revolutionize access to care in our community and we are eager to see how it will open new doors to wellness for so many residents.

  • Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation received $90,000, which allows the nonprofit to enhance services and improve client communication to keep up with the continued growth in the South Lake community. GCCF is a 100% volunteer organization, and as the community has grown, they will use technology and enhanced communications to continue servicing the community as a volunteer-driven organization. We look forward to seeing how these advancements will enable GCCF to continue its invaluable work with even greater efficiency and reach.

  • Community Health Centers, Inc. received $100,000 to expand the Behavioral/Mental Health Care Team at the CHC’s Four Corners Center. This expansion will include a new behavioral health nurse practitioner, licensed clinical social worker, case manager and medical assistant. We are not only excited but also deeply invested in observing how this expansion will strengthen mental health services in our community, making care more accessible and impactful for those in need.

  • Congratulations to the Central Florida Dreamplex Therapeutic School, which is receiving $30,000 to expand services within the Dreamplex Therapeutic School, designed to meet the specialized instructional and therapeutic needs of children with disabilities.
