Do you ever read back your comms and then realize your tone sounds different than intended? You hit send on an email, read it back, and then cringe because it sounds...well, a little cold? We've all been there.     Below are 5 tips to pack a positivity punch within your communications.   😊 Use emojis and gifs (sparingly!): A timely smiley or well-placed thumbs-up reaction can go a long way    🌼 Customize your comms: Personalize your greetings and sign-offs with something that will make your recipient smile     ☀️ Phrase things positively: Infuse positive words in your comms, such as reframing “have to” or “need to” with “I am excited to” or “get the chance to”     🤔 Don’t assume: Don’t make assumptions about workload or scheduling. Turn directives into polite questions and provide details about deadlines or level of urgency     🙏 Show appreciation: A simple “Hey - thanks for your hard work on the latest project!” before moving on to the next task is important   Remember, a little positivity makes a big impact in building strong relationships!    #bitsofwisdom #teams #comms #communication #teammate #colleagues #coworker #relationships #buildingrelationships #teambuilding

Local Wisdom CEO, Pinaki Kathiari, chaired the most recent ALI Conferences conference, “AI for Communicators” in NYC. In their post today, Local Wisdom shared a quote of something I lead almost every AI conversation with: “Will AI replace me? No, AI is your partner.” I’m a huge fan of prompt engineering! In their post👇🏽, LW shares 10 starter prompts with which to kickoff an LLM conversation. These prompts are a fantastic way to get started with AI. Try them today! #LocalWisdom #AIforCommunicators #PromptEngineering #StefsSuccessStories

“Will AI replace me? No, AI is your partner.” -Stefani Quarles   Last week, Local Wisdom CEO Pinaki Kathiari chaired ALI Conferences' AI for Communicators conference. Many lessons were learned, friendships were formed, and many tips were shared, but among the most helpful was the discussion of how essential and powerful AI prompts are to get AI’s mechanical wheels turning!     Below are 10 starter prompts to open the conversation with AI – from here, you will need to keep refining your questions. Keep in mind, though, that the more detail you input into the machine, the better, so enter your scenario, audience, goal, and more.  Begin with:     “I am an [insert job title] with [insert characteristics about yourself] looking to communicate with [insert target audience] in the tone of [insert desired tone]. Additional context is [insert any context AI should know].”     Then add the action item:      🤖 Write a blog post about [insert topic] that includes stats while citing sources.     🤖 What are trending topics around the subject of [insert topic]?     🤖 What are the press and media talking about when it comes to [insert topic]?    🤖 What are the most popular podcasts that talk about [insert topic]?    🤖 What news does [insert audience] care about?    🤖 Explain this to me as if I was [insert audience]?     🤖 Tell me a story about [insert audience, situation, achievement, etc.] to get me in a headspace to write [insert comms topic].     🤖 What are the [insert keywords and hashtags] that people would use to optimize this content?     🤖 Does the following copy about [insert topic] sound smooth or could it be enhanced in any way? “[insert copy]” 🤖 I am going to ask you to [insert task]. What questions do you have for me before we get started?     And when applicable, end with the following sentence:    “Please give me original content only.”     What other starter prompts have you found especially helpful in maximizing AI’s immense power? Comment below!    #bitsofwisdom #AI #prompt #AIprompt #promptwriting #questions #communications #communication #commuicators #comms #internalcommunications #internalcomms #ic #ALIcomms #conference #commsconference

Helping companies succeed through internal communications and employee experience

Several years ago, at Local Wisdom, we began starting our monthly all-hands meetings (we call them Roundtables) with open gratitude. Anyone can appreciate anyone for something they did. I used to take notes, which is the image below. I started noticing that after about 20 minutes into it, people would start to rush and apologize for having more colleagues to thank. That’s when I started to wonder, “Why does this feel wrong?” In our hyper-productive, outcome-focused, and driven world, we’re often just moving fast. Fueled by adrenaline and earning statements, we don’t have the mental energy to stop and risk doing something that may feel counterproductive. You miss out on building a great culture when moving with those types of blinders, and we’re going to talk about it this week. Let’s slow down and take the time to appreciate the people, circumstances, and progress in our lives. I’m looking forward to graciously ruffling some feathers and shaking things up with this cast of super friends: Kristin Hancock, Jenni Field, Chuck Gose, Katie Macaulay, Zane Ewton, Jason Anthoine, Jason Etter 🫶 Thank you in advance for liking, commenting, and joining us. The event link is in the first comment. What can I say except you’re welcome 🎶
