Today marks the last day of our interns’ inspired series. As our interns step away from their time at Loenbro to embark on their next journey, we want to commemorate the work they did here. Thank you for reminding everyone of why we do what we do. The final two interns we are highlighting, Brody and Dylan, worked as Project Engineering Interns. Here is what Brody had to say about his time with Loenbro: “I got to shadow many great people and learn about the construction and business environment. I learned a lot of skills that I can take with me throughout my career. I understand now the value of customer satisfaction. This our third year participating in the annual HF Sinclair golf tournament located in Sinclair, WY where seventeen teams competed. Loenbro sponsored a booth along the course for people to enjoy homemade tacos handcrafted by our employees. Happy Monday and welcome to the next Interns’ Inspired post! This week we are taking a personal look into Liam’s internship. Liam spent his internship serving the estimating and procurement teams within their scope. Now, he is off to Japan to study abroad for school! Here is what he had to say about his time at Loenbro: “I worked on quality takeoffs, negotiating with vendors, developing preliminary delivery schedules, receiving bids, and developing bid tabulations. I also recommended the most cost-effective bidder to the Chief Estimator, attended bid reviews, and ensured vendor and subcontractor compliance were within specifications and scope of work. It has been a great learning experience with a group of wonderful people who are willing to help me learn and tackle new challenges everyday. The opportunity has been one of the best things to happen to me during my time in school studying Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management. I am looking forward to using the skills that I learned at Loenbro to further my growth in the industry. It's #NationalInternDay 🎊 and to continue our interns’ inspired series, here is our first close-up look at one of our interns. David is a student at University of Colorado Boulder, who spent most of his internship assisting the finance department. This is what he had to say about his time with Loenbro: “This opportunity has been incredibly enriching, allowing me to immerse myself in various facets of the financial world. I've been actively participating in month-end close accrual meetings, gaining hands-on experience with the entire process. The chance to collaborate with sourcing companies for mergers and acquisitions has broadened my understanding of strategic growth and business development. Constructing and refining spreadsheets to expedite the examination of human resource information is among the most intriguing facets of my job. This has improved my analytical abilities and given me insightful knowledge about the dynamics of the workforce. I have also worked on employee data entry and tracking our large projects. I am immensely grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow in such a dynamic environment and am eager to apply these skills in my future career endeavors.” Thank you interns for your dedication to leading the change. Today is #NationalBeAGoodTeammateDay. What does it mean to be a member of the Loenbro team? Being a local industrial services provider across the Western US and having an extensive list of service offerings, it is imperative that our teams are working together to create fluid integration for a successful job completion. At the end of the day we are ONE team with ONE common goal, which is to get the job done. Here are a few of our Project Manager’s thoughts on what it means to be a team member at Loenbro: “Great projects are never completed by an individual, they are completed by great teams. Everyone plays a part and no one part is more important than the other. If one person does not do their job, the whole system will cease to excel. School may be out, but our students don’t stop working! Pictured below are some of our interns who are working hard and learning exactly what it means to be leading the change. Our interns get immersive experience in the world of industrial construction and maintenance. Since joining the intern program, they have become OSHA 10 and 30 certified, shadowed various positions (quality, safety, superintendents, project managers, and more), and have gained a valuable, comprehensive understanding of all the components that ensure a successful project. What does it really mean to have hands-on experience? Our interns are a part of meetings, job walks, budget management, closeout, document control, client and general contractor interfacing, and so much more! They are participating in real life experience, so they are prepped to hit the ground running. In continuation of our Fourth of July Spirit, our thoughts are currently on our country’s soldiers. Loenbro recently had the honor of supporting Folds of Honor, which “provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.” This will be Loenbro’s third year contributing to this great cause and the event we participated in raised approximately $800,000 in scholarships for the families of our fallen soldiers and first responders.
