🍏 🥕 🥑 One of the key ingredients Tim Benniks at Hygraph recommends for effective localization is best-of-breed technology that you can slot into existing workflows, choose the features you need, and only pay for those. For example, if you need batch editing, AI, and lots of import abilities in your localization engine, you can integrate a tool like Lokalise! 📖 Discover Tim’s full recipe here: https://lnkd.in/e_yJYJNz #recipesforlocalization #globaldevelopment #productlocalization --- 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗛𝘆𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵? You can't be as flexible and agile as you would like. And you won’t be aligned. Localization managers put out a lot of fires. 🔥 That's what makes localization so rewarding. You learn from your mistakes and reiterate, until you find the perfect recipe that works for you and all the other cooks in your kitchen. One of the mistakes Julio Leal, Localization Manager at Spendesk, learned from was one that A LOT of product localization teams deal with. Many of the translations were totally out of context, making it hard for translators to understand the true meaning of the original content. So Julio's challenge was to give translators the contextual information they need when translating apps and products. Discover which context-friendly ingredients he used in his localization recipe below. 📖 Then download the Lokalise Kitchen for Julio’s full localization recipe: https://lnkd.in/eUkwiqSb #recipesforlocalization #productlocalization #applocalization #translation

🇬🇧 We’re hopping over to London for this month’s Global Village, where Eleanor Herrin from Finance, shares some tips for your next London adventure. Although Eleanor grew up in the States, London has been her home for the past 20+ years.  So, let’s start with the good stuff. 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 & 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗞𝗦 🤤 If you love food, you’ll be bowled over with the diverse culinary scene (the best neighbourhoods for restaurants are Soho and Shoreditch!). 🍜 Restaurants: Indulge in a variety of cuisines at amazing eateries like Padella for handmade pasta, Som Saa for authentic Thai, Bubala for Middle Eastern vegetarian delights, and Borough Market for a vibrant array of international food stalls. 🍸 Bars: Extend your day with a visit to bars such as Nightjar for creative cocktails or The 10 Cases for an ever rotating selection of wine (they only ever stock up to 10 cases of the same wine so there is always something new to try!) 🥐 Bakeries: Enjoy delicious pastries and freshly baked bread at The Dusty Knuckle in Dalston. ☕ Coffee Shops: Cozy coffee spots perfect for a relaxing afternoon include Monmouth Coffee Company and Ozone Coffee 🍓 Markets: Discover local and artisanal products at markets such as the charming Columbia Road Flower Market or Portobello Road Market. Next, up, some art and history. London has incredible museums, galleries and other sites to explore: 𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧-𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚 🚲 🖼️ Art Museums: The National Gallery features masterpieces from various periods, the Tate Modern showcases contemporary art, the Victoria and Albert Museum offers decorative arts and design. 🏛️ Historical Sites: Discover the grandeur of Buckingham Palace, the history of Westminster Abbey, and the architectural marvel of St. Paul’s Cathedral. "One of my personal favorites is The Churchill War Rooms which is the underground bunker where Churchill and the UK government operated from for part of WWII. 𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗗𝗢𝗢𝗥𝗦 🌳 🌊 The River Thames: Take a stroll along the South Bank, enjoy a river cruise, or visit the historic Tower of London and Tower Bridge. 🏞️ Parks and Gardens: Relax in the beautiful surroundings of Hyde Park, Regent’s Park, or the royal gardens of Kew. For something different, there are also some great walks in London such as the historic Regents Canal Walk, or for great views, The Parkland Walk. 𝗗𝗢𝗡'𝗧 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗧 🔎 🐟 🍟 Local Delicacies: Don’t miss trying the famous fish and chips, a traditional English breakfast, or a Sunday roast with Yorkshire pudding. 𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟 ☀️ Best Time to Visit: London is great year-round, but the summer months are the best with warm weather and many outdoor events. ❓Anything else you’d add? Comment below

👨🍳 The team at HiBob have been perfecting their localization recipe for over a year. 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘 Before, the localization team sent content from their code repo straight to their language service provider then waited to get the translated content back. “It was all very linear.” 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 Now, every single piece of text that appears in their product is added to Figma, synced with Lokalise, and only then is it sent for translation, giving translators the context they need for more accurate translations. ➡ Download the Lokalise Kitchen cookbook for Pavel Riazanov's full localization management recipe: https://lnkd.in/eUkwiqSb #recipesforlocalization #lokalisekitchen #localization
