  • In the final episode of our Integrated Resource Plan video series, our Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Falcone, and our Senior Vice President of Power Supply, Gary Stephenson, discuss how LIPA plans to maintain reliability and affordability as Long Island and the Rockaways move to electrify heating and transportation. With increasing electric demand, it is crucial that LIPA continues its nation-leading energy efficiency programs and incentives for residential rooftop solar. LIPA is committed to the reliability and resiliency of the electric grid for customers — maintaining our current top 10% national ranking in reliability. For more information on the IRP and upcoming public comment sessions, please visit: lipower.org/IRP.

  • At its National Conference, the American Public Power Association (APPA) presented LIPA with the 2024 E.F. Scattergood System Achievement Award. This award recognizes member utilities who’ve enhanced the prestige of public power through sustained achievement and customer service. We understand how important reliability and resiliency are for our customers. That’s why we have invested a record $6.4 billion since 2016 – over three times the pace of investment of a decade ago – to achieve industry-leading reliability, improve resiliency, and leverage modern system design and technology to provide value to our customers. Together with our partners at PSEG Long Island LLC, we are amongst the nation’s top 10% of utilities for reliability. We have some very exciting news to share about our South Fork Wind farm! Today, Governor Hochul announced the completion of this landmark offshore wind project, with all 12 turbines constructed and successfully delivering power to our customers across Long Island and the Rockaways. First approved by our Board of Trustees in 2017, this is a historic milestone as New York becomes home to America’s first utility-scale offshore wind farm. Congratulations and thank you to our partners NYSERDA, Ørsted, and Eversource Energy. For more information, visit: https://lnkd.in/ekZ3_sq6.
