This week, Lori's Hands participated in a volunteer event hosted by the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation and Catchafire to celebrate National Intern Day. The event was a brainstorming workshop connecting Boehringer interns with nonprofit partners to tackle critical challenges. Our discussion emphasized the vital role of our student volunteers and alumni, highlighting how they are essential to our current operations and form the pipeline for our future staff, Board of Directors, committees, councils, and donors.

Our mission at Lori’s Hands is to foster strong intergenerational relationships between members of the community and college students. These friendships are built on our core values of dependability, reciprocity, and compassion. Each Lori’s Hand’s client and student partnership is special in its own way, all are appreciated and loved. We thank all of our students, clients, and supporters for being a part of what makes Lori’s Hands so great!

The company of a student volunteer visiting their client can drastically change the way a client tackles their day. We love hearing the gratitude, excitement, and warmth our clients express when our student volunteers visit to assist with household tasks or just to talk.
