Los Angeles is ready to live at the heart of the biggest single-sport event ever. The FIFA World Cup 26™ will be hosted across three countries and 16 cities (including LA) and for the first time in history, will feature 48 teams and 104 matches. Los Angeles will host eight matches at SoFi Stadium, including the highly coveted U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) opening and third matches, three additional Group Stage matches, two Round of 32 knockout matches, and one Quarterfinal match The Los Angeles Host City is co-chaired by LAFC Co-President Larry Freedman and former U.S. Men’s National Team player Chris Klein and includes representatives from the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC), the Los Angeles Rams, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), and the LA Galaxy.

CONMEBOL Copa America 2024™ delivered another memorable week of soccer for the Los Angeles region! SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park played host to more than 140,000 passionate fans from Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico and Venezuela to cheer on their teams in the world’s oldest national team tournament, that was being played outside of South America for only the second time in its 108-year history. When Los Angeles hosts eight matches for FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico and the United States, including the U.S. Men’s National Team opening match, the region can expect to reap economic benefits far beyond any event held in recent years, according to a new report issued by Micronomics Economic Research and Consulting.
