With the 2024 Paris Olympics in full swing, we want to continue to celebrate all of the athletes who have attended one of our #19Strong colleges over the years. This week we want to highlight all of the amazing athletes who have attended El Camino College. - George Stanich, a high jump bronze medalist in the 1948 London Olympics, was a multitalented athlete and later served as an El Camino faculty member from 1955-1992. - Flo Hyman, a three-time All-American, led the U.S. volleyball team to a silver medal in the 1984 Los Angeles games. - Cliff Meidel competed in sprint kayaking at the 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Olympics, where he served as Team USA flag bearer. His inspiring story of overcoming a severe injury reached nearly 2 billion viewers. El Camino College Olympians also include five members of the 1952 Olympic water polo team and Keith Erickson, a standout volleyball player in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics who enjoyed a 12-year NBA career, including five years with the Los Angeles Lakers. #ElCaminoCollege #Olympians #SportsExcellence #ProudAlumni #Inspiration #OlympicAthletes
