About us
Lumicera Health Services is defining the “new norm” in specialty pharmacy to optimize patient well-being. We are dedicated to improving specialty pharmacy care, one patient at a time, through educational, clinical, financial and service excellence. As a testament to our commitment to quality and continuous improvement, we achieved URAC specialty pharmacy accreditation within the first year of opening. Consistent with our tagline—Care.Illuminated.—we illuminate patient care to ensure every patient receives the personalized and compassionate support they need to manage their complex conditions and prescribed medications. Lumicera clinical experts tailor the patient guidance, outcome goals and follow-up plans to each patient and their prescribed treatment. Thorough education on the importance of adherence, proactive refill reminders, and proper medication use, including injection teaching, helps to ensure safe, effective and timely administration. Our fully integrated care model helps to improve health outcomes by bringing Lumicera clinicians closer to patients, providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and payers. Connecting patients to the best possible resources, such as advocacy groups, and becoming trusted advisors for the patient and their providers ensures optimal and successful care. We offer providers and payers convenient, toll-free access to support services, including assistance with the prior authorization process. Also, Lumicera works with pharmaceutical manufacturers to monitor adverse events and for support on effective management of specialty medications to ensure the safe and proper use of these therapies. Lumicera Health Services is a division of Navitus Health Solutions, a nationally recognized provider of pharmacy benefit management (PBM) services.

Industry expert and Associate Director, Client Financial Support at Navitus, Ryan Schmidt, spoke with Managed Healthcare Executive to discuss the drug spend findings in our 8th annual Drug Trend Report. (https://lnkd.in/gJEgFvwG). “The biggest thing that stands out is non-specialty growth,” Ryan reported. “We’ve been doing this for quite a few years, and this is the first time in a while that non-specialty drugs have exceeded specialty growth.” Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eXCdnXtb #DrugTrendReport

👏 👏 👏 We are passionate about and committed to taking the best care of our patients and making medications more affordable for the people who need them. It's a responsibility we take very seriously. Learn more about how much we value this kind of transparency from our parent company Navitus' CEO, David Fields.
In light of the recent Federal Trade Commission (FTC) report targeting deceptive practices in the PBM industry, we are proud to reaffirm the values that drive our mission – making medications more affordable for the people who need them, so they can live their lives more fully. David W. Fields, CEO at Navitus, said Tuesday, “We applaud the FTC for shining a spotlight on this issue and stand in opposition to the backroom negotiations between drug companies and the Big Three, where high prices result in large rebates that the PBMs use to satisfy their profit machines.” David went on to share, “Our 8th annual Drug Trend Report, which launches publicly Monday, July 15, includes real, auditable data that shows what we pay for medications on behalf of our clients.” Plan sponsors and health plans are increasingly seeking alternative PBM models that promote transparency and align with their goals of delivering cost savings to members. That's just one of the reasons UCare moved to Navitus in 2024. Patrick Mitsch, Vice President of Pharmacy at UCare recently said, "We don’t want to get mixed in or muddied up with any of those other practices that may be associated with some of the other PBMs" in an article by Modern Healthcare. We would like to extend a very warm welcome back to our new Clinical Pharmacy Resident, Hanna Lovstad. Hanna is no stranger to Lumicera having been an APPE student with us previously. We’re so happy to have her with us and are looking forward to working with her again! 👏

Last Friday may have marked the final day of Residency for these two amazing people, but it also marked a new beginning for them as well! Jonathan Greaves will be moving to our PGY2 Specialty Pharmacy and Leadership Program, where he will continue his training from a more administrative perspective, as well as learning more about our parent company, Navitus Health Solutions. Amanda S. will be joining the Clinical Team as Experiential Program Manager, where she will continue to develop the experiential program for our APPE, Interns and Residents. Congratulations to Jonathan and Amanda!

Yesterday, we celebrated our 10th anniversary with all of our associates across the country. It was a day filled with great memories, fun and games, wonderful food and amazing reflections on being the first cost-plus specialty pharmacy, how much we’ve accomplished and how much we’ve grown! We were also fortunate enough to have Senator Dianne Hesselbein, Representative Lisa Subeck and Sarah Smith stop by for a visit in Madison. Thank you to everyone for a great day!
