The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter is part of a national force devoted to solving the cruel mystery of lupus while providing caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact. The LFANC is the only statewide lupus organization in North Carolina. VISION The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter envisions a world without lupus. The organization will advance the science and medicine of lupus to find a cure and improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus. MISSION The Lupus Foundation of America North Carolina Chapter is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, and advocacy. With the help of informed volunteers, lupus medical experts, and committed and caring supporters, we support research and conduct education programs so everyone affected by lupus can have an improved quality of life; provide information to ensure people with lupus and their families get answers and health professionals know about new means to diagnose and manage the disease; and, conduct activities to increase awareness of lupus, rally public support for those who are affected by lupus, and advocate on their behalf.

Her exceptional leadership has been instrumental in advancing our mission, and her unwavering commitment to lupus education, advocacy, and awareness has made a profound impact on the community. As Erin passes the reins to our new Board Chair, Ebony L. Marable MBA, PHR, we are filled with excitement and optimism for the future. Ebony brings a wealth of experience, having served on our Board of Directors since 2019, her qualifications and passion for our cause position her perfectly to lead the North Carolina Chapter forward. As we navigate this important leadership transition, we encourage everyone to stay engaged with our initiatives and events, recognizing that our journey of advocacy and awareness continues. Together, under new leadership, we remain steadfast in our mission to improve the lives of those affected by lupus, fostering growth and hope within our community. Ebony's career spans various sectors, including non-profit, manufacturing, military, local government, financial services, and retail. Her expertise has made her a sought-after senior consultant, guiding organizations toward peak performance and fostering cultures of excellence. Ebony is a proud alumna of Hampton University holding a B.S. in Systems and Organization Management, and an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte. She is a dedicated community servant supporting organizations focused on political activism and homelessness. Above all, Ebony finds her greatest fulfillment in her roles as a devoted wife of nearly 12 years to Adrian and as a proud mother to their bright and talented daughter, Payton Renee. We would also like to welcome Gabrielle Hawkins, MPH as our newest Board of Directors member. Gabrielle Hawkins is a dynamic professional specializing in addressing critical social needs in underserved communities through innovative solutions.
