In his latest piece for The Drum, Richard Draycott asks the question we all need to keep asking - and keep answering - in order to succeed: How do we, as agencies, ensure our teams remain at the cutting edge of innovation when tools, technologies, channels and options change constantly? I was happy to share with him a fun - and effective - idea our team hatched to keep innovation top of mind and incentivize team members to find, assess, and roll out innovations that set up Luquire and our clients for success. We call it the Alicorn Award, and team members who bring winning ideas get cash rewards. The innovations are judged on how effectively – and MEASURABLY – they fuel agency efficiencies, creativity, improved insights and/or agency culture. ...Oh, what’s in the name, you ask? An ‘alicorn’ is the word for a unicorn’s horn and the source of its magical powers.
