The revolution of humanoid personal assitants is starting in egypt ! It was the best decision taken to make our graduation project a humanoid personal assitant robot “RAFEQI” the name represents the robot’s nature as he can be the best assistant and friend. We started this project from scratch in the previous august and it was under development for a whole year and went through 2 phases , the first phase was with 3D printed body while the second was with a raisin body and some updates in the head design. We experienced working on forward kinematics, natural language processing featuring ChatGPT API, computer vision using Luxonis oak-d pro , localization , inverse kinematics and GUI and website development. RAFEQI was an updated version of poppy robot made by Pollen Robotics in both the body design and features regarding the upper body , the lower body was inspired by reachy robot made also by Pollen Robotics but also some changes were made to lower the base cost and weight . The team managed to decrease the robot cost almost 3 times which was the main aim of the project , thankfully the project has participated in Information Technology Industry Development Agency, ITIDA graduation projects competition and already won a fund, in addition to this the project is qualified to Rally Egypt SCU Society And thankfully Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport gave us unlimited support.
