This afternoon, we proudly announced a groundbreaking partnership with University of Massachusetts Lowell and BioversityMA, bringing their first pilot space outside of Boston to right here in Lowell! This Chancellor Julie Chen of UML shared her vision on the importance of lifelong education, highlighting how this new initiative will offer valuable opportunities for career advancement and continued academic growth. Ryan Mudawar from Massachusetts Life Sciences Center congratulated UMass Lowell & Bioversity on receiving the Workforce Development Capital Grant, which will provide over half a million in funding to support this venture. President & CEO at MassBio, Kendalle Burlin O'Connell, Esq. shared how this expansion is a testament to Team Massachusetts, expanding the program to places that create diverse pathways for people to advance their career. Zach Stanley, Executive Director of Bioversity, elaborated on the dual focus of the program's training model: speed of training and scalability. He highlighted the program's integration of industry volunteers for mock interviews and career discussions, which significantly enhances its impact and success. M2D2 is very excited about this new partnership and look forward to its positive impact on the Merrimack Valley community! #Bioversity #Biotech #CareerOpportunities #JobOpportunities #CareerDevelopment

Supporting the commercialization of medical device and biotech startups.
About us
M2D2 (Massachusetts Medical Device Development) is an incubator providing a wet and dry labs, office and meeting space, and state-of-the-art equipment for medical device, medtech, and biotech startup companies to grow. (At rents that are a fraction of those in the "617.") As New England's only BARDA DRIVe incubator we are uniquely positioned to connect startups to generous government funding for their innovations in the infectious disease, health security, and "solving sepsis" spaces. Through the Center for Advancing Point of Care Technologies (CAPCaT) in Heart, Lung, Blood, and Sleep Disorders — a joint initiative with UMass Medical School — support development and testing of promising “late-stage” point of care technologies that can be rapidly deployed to enhance the diagnosis, monitoring, management and/or treatment of heart, lung, blood and sleep disorders (NHLBI), with an additional interest in projects that incorporate complementary and integrative health approaches (NCCIH). Every spring our annual signature event, the $200K Challenge, attracts global life sciences innovators who pitch their products in competition for a share of $200,000 in sponsor-provided, in-kind resources, as well as generous cash awards. (2021 was the Challenge's 10th Anniversary.) Subscribe to the M2D2 e-newsletter for twice-weekly updates on funding and mentoring opportunities, news, and events that can help you advance your innovation and your business.
