We were excited to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport for four new clean-diesel Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System - YARTS buses that were procured through federal community project funding obtained by Congressman Jim Costa. In addition to cutting ribbon for the new buses, we also celebrated the start of YARTS service from Fresno, which starts tomorrow! Congressman Jim Costa, Madera County Supervisor Wamhoff, Madera County Supervisor Macaulay, and other local officials from Fresno and Merced were in attendance for this significant milestone. The Congressman’s support has been instrumental in bringing these new YARTS buses to our region, advancing clean public transportation and making travel to Yosemite more accessible and sustainable for our residents. We are grateful for his continued dedication to improving our transportation infrastructure. THANK YOU! #yarts #yosemite #cleantravel

POV: You rode your bike to work for Bike Month If we did it, you can too! The entire month of May is Bike Month so there is still time to advocate for bicycling as an alternative way of getting to places you need to go…such as to work! Pedaling not only keeps you in shape but also supports our county's mission of cutting down on car travel and planet-polluting emissions. It’s a win-win! So, who's up for a ride? Let's roll! #bikemonth #biketowork #maderactc #wecandoit

The San Joaquin Valley Policy Conference was the place to be this week! It was an inspiring couple of days, with transportation professionals, elected officials, and consultants coming together to connect, share ideas, and explore new perspectives that will shape the future of transportation. We're thrilled that MCTC Policy Board Commissioners and staff were able to attend, and we extend our thanks to the Tulare Council of Governments for hosting such an important event. We know that the connections made, and ideas shared there will have a lasting impact on transportation in the San Joaquin Valley and beyond. All paths lead to YES!! #sjvspringpolicyconference

Last week, the Madera County Region was very well represented at the California Association of Councils of Governments (CALCOG) conference! Supervisor Robert Poythress, serving as this year's President of CALCOG, delivered the opening remarks to the conference attendees in Monterey. Madera County Transportation Commission's Executive Director, Patricia Taylor, discussed Madera County's equity statement and policies during a panel session titled "Adopting Equity Policies That 'Fit' Local Agencies". The panel was moderated by Kendall Flint, DKS. Also representing Madera County Transportation Commission at the conference was Deputy Director Troy McNeil, and Senior Regional Planner Evelyn Espinosa. Way to go team!
