The Volunteer Tutor Bus is a pilot program that provides transportation to UVA students who want to volunteer to work with kids at schools in the Albemarle County district but don’t have transportation to get there. More than 100 Madison House volunteers hop on the bus each week to tutor in elementary, middle, and high schools in urban and rural parts of the county. Tax season 2024 is right around the corner! The Madison House CASH (Creating Assets, Savings, and Hope) Program began recruiting and training volunteers for their tax preparation services in September. After receiving a record number of volunteer applications, the new recruits underwent weeks of training and are now ready to take their certification exams.
