🌟Celebrating Women's History Month at M-Tech: Spotlight on Nikki Hill Johnson!🌟 This March, as we celebrate Women's History Month at M-Tech, we're turning the spotlight on the amazing women who contribute their brilliance to our team. ✨ Today, let's get to know Nikki a little better through a quick Q&A: How did you get interested in Tech? I am an elder Millennial so I was in the midst of my childhood when the internet came to be. My mom was a VP at AOL and I spent many hours online in chat rooms, visiting the AOL offices and learning all about the online world. And here's a fun tidbit: that kid control feature? Yup, blame it on me and my sister! My mom had to rein us in somehow. Sorry everyone! But after college I was grateful to land a marketing job at AOL and have been involved in some kind of digital/tech marketing ever since. What's a significant project you've worked on at MTech that you are particularly proud of? I am very proud of everything we are creating at HVAC.com. We're flipping the script on an entire industry and empowering homeowners to decode the mysteries of their HVAC systems. As a homeowner myself, I wish our products had been around when I was dealing with replacing my HVAC. Probably would've saved me so much stress.... and money! What's a hobby or interest you have outside of work? Outside of work, I'm an avid tennis player. As a life long soccer player I decided to pick up a racket in 2021 and it's become a bit of an obsession! I play competitively on a few USTA teams in my neighborhood - we even won States last year! Tennis isn't just a hobby; it's my sacred "me-time" and the ultimate stress-buster. Nothing like a good, hard swing to send those worries flying! 🎾

🌟 Celebrating Women's History Month at M-Tech: Spotlight on Alicia Brooks!🌟 This March, as we celebrate Women's History Month at M-Tech, we're turning the spotlight on the amazing women who contribute their brilliance to our team. ✨ Today, let's get to know Alicia a little better through a quick Q&A: What's a significant project you've worked on at MTech that you are particularly proud of? I am so passionate about the work I've contributed to on HVAC.com. I’ve had the chance to rebuild it several times and see it through several rebrandings. Each iteration presents new challenges and opportunities for innovation, and being a part of its evolution has been immensely rewarding. What's a hobby or interest you have outside of work? Outside of work, I’m all about getting crafty! From art projects to cosplay, you can usually find me in some kind of creative project. Whether I’m painting, sewing, or building elaborate costumes, I love getting hands-on and learning new skills. How did you get interested in Tech? My tech journey started way back in the Neopets.com days. I was all about customizing my profile with table-based layouts and inline CSS. Then Myspace came along, and I dove headfirst into learning about CSS and class selectors. That curiosity and love for making things look cool eventually led me down the path to web development.

🌟 Celebrating Women's History Month at M-Tech: Spotlight on Venezia Leone!🌟 This March, as we celebrate Women's History Month at M-Tech, we're turning the spotlight on the amazing women who contribute their brilliance to our team. ✨ Today, let's get to know Venezia a little better through a quick Q&A: What's a significant project you've worked on at MTech that you are particularly proud of? Over the last year we have been working on replacing our phone system, which represents the majority of our lead generation. After evaluating potential replacements, defining requirements and roadmaps, and helping to unblock the team as they built the replacements, I am so proud to say that we launched the new phone system! This will save the business thousands of dollars a month and ensure M-Tech has full ownership over the technology. How do you maintain a healthy work/life balance in the fast-paced tech industry? -I take time off when I want to without feeling any reservations. Work is important but so is life.  -I prioritize exercise multiple times a week wherever it fits in my schedule - sometimes I workout at 7AM and sometimes I work out at 8PM. - I make sure I always have snacks at my desk - a fed Venezia is a happy Venezia What is a pivotal moment or experience in your career that shaped who you are today? At a career fair my senior year I discovered the fellowship program Venture for America, which is a program geared toward connecting recent grads to start up jobs in cities with emerging entrepreneurship ecosystems. Without Venture for America I would not have been exposed to starts ups or to Product Management, which are now two of my favorite things! Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people? My teammates would say this isn't surprising since I talk about it all the time, but I started CrossFit a year and a half ago and am currently participating in my first CrossFit Open, which is a global competition! It is so empowering to challenge myself and the community at my gym is so supportive and fun.

🌟 Celebrating Women's History Month at M-Tech: Spotlight on Anne Fonda! 🌟 This March, as we celebrate Women's History Month at M-Tech, we're turning the spotlight on the amazing women who contribute their brilliance to our team. ✨ Today, let's get to know Anne a little better through a quick Q&A: How do you maintain a healthy work/life balance in the fast-paced tech industry? Maintaining a work-life balance can be a challenge, especially when working remotely. After 20 years of working from home, here's what I do: - Shut off the work computer at the end of the day. I am not an essential employee needed in a tech emergency, so there is no need to stay connected. - Keep evenings and weekends solely for myself. - Work hard to stay well ahead of deadlines so that I have the time to do pop-up projects without feeling overwhelmed. What's a hobby or interest you have outside of work? I'm interested in politics and American history, especially as it relates to today's politics. I read historian Heather Scott Richardson's Letters from an American every morning. What is a pivotal moment or experience in your career that shaped who you are today? A pivotal moment or experience in my life that shaped my career and who I am today occurred in my first year in high school. My English teacher encouraged my writing and encouraged me to join the school newspaper. Both the English teacher and the journalism advisor nurtured my love of writing and helped me become a better writer. I have been writing ever since - first as a journalist and then as an SEO content writer. Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people? Growing up on a farm in Iowa, I really did see chickens running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Or, Young Frankenstein is one of my favorite movies of all time and I can recite lines of dialog at the drop of a hat.

🌟 Celebrating Women's History Month at M-Tech: Spotlight on Samantha Fasciolo! 🌟 This March, as we celebrate Women's History Month at M-Tech, we're turning the spotlight on the amazing women who contribute their brilliance to our team. ✨ Today, let's get to know Samantha a little better through a quick Q&A: Who is a woman that inspires you and why? I’m a bit younger so I grew up watching a lot of entertainment on platforms like Youtube and Twitch. One female creator that really inspires me is QTCinderella (real name Blaire). She is well respected in the space and uses her expertise in event planning to create big, high budget shows that bring people in the community together. She recently hosted an award show for the entirety of Twitch (for the third year in a row!) to showcase all creators in the space, big and small. I really respect her dedication, drive to succeed, and willingness to be a pioneer in a space that is male dominated. How do you maintain a healthy work/life balance in the fast-paced tech industry? Tech can be stressful since there are always deadlines around the corner. It’s important to recognize when you need help and communicate early. When I take care of my professional life properly it doesn’t flow over into my personal life. Other than that, remember to take time to enjoy your hobbies separately from work and unplug when you need to! What's a hobby or interest you have outside of work? On weekends I like to volunteer at my local Humane Society. I love working with animals, especially cats. They’re so sweet and it is so fulfilling to watch these animals get adopted into loving homes. How did you get interested in Tech? I became interested in tech when I was 5 years old and saw a commercial for the Gameboy Advanced on our old CRT TV. After that I developed a passion for video games and computers that never went away!
