  • The MBUSD Classified Employee of the Year is Payroll Technician Katy Yeh! She is in her 5th year in this role. 🎉👏 Katy has been an indispensable force since day one. When she first came on board, she joined one other member of the team who managed payroll for the entire District, making it a mighty team of two that now oversees payroll for 950 MBUSD staff members. Katy has repeatedly proven to step up to challenges and be a collaborative team member. She is described as patient, kind, and gracious. Her supervisor, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Dawnalyn Murakawa-Leopard, says Katy deserves this honor because of the many hats she wore this year and her contributions to the payroll division. Katy’s dedication goes beyond just a job—she’s a payroll superhero! Congratulations to our District Classified Employee of the Year! We are so grateful and proud to have you on our team. We will honor Katy and our Classified Employees of the Year at our Board meeting this Wednesday. 🌟 #ClassifiedEmployeeoftheYear #WeAreMBUSD

  • This week is United Against Hate Week (November 12-18), and for the second year in a row, MBUSD is recognizing and actively participating in this national initiative. United Against Hate Week was created to empower residents to take action in their local communities, raise awareness, and alter the course of the growing intolerance to create more inclusive communities. MBUSD schools will have scheduled campus events and activities throughout the week. Also, don’t forget to grab “MB Stands United Against Hate” lawn and window signs available for pick-up starting today at our school sites! United Against Hate Week is one of many initiatives that bolster the Climate of Care work at each campus aligned with MBUSD’s Board Goal #2 and reflects our commitment to providing a safe environment for all our students and staff. #WeAreMBUSD
