Honoring Marines by Educating their Children
About us
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is the Nation's oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children. The Scholarship Foundation provides funding for post-high school education to all qualified children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen in need. Scholarship recipients are children of honorably discharged, retired, and active-duty Marines, and particular attention is given to those whose parent has been wounded or killed in action. Since its inception in 1962, the Scholarship Foundation has awarded more than 50,000 scholarships, worth upwards of $185,000,000, to the children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen. In the current academic year, the Scholarship Foundation awarded $10,000,000 to 2,600 children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen.

Thank you to everyone for their steadfast support of the Capital Area Golf Tournament over the past twenty years. The tournament raised more than $1.6 million, which supported four memorial scholarships -- 3/5 "Darkhorse" Memorial Scholarship, 1/8 Marines Battle of Fallujah Memorial Scholarship, First Lieutenant Robert Kelly Memorial Scholarship, Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Shea USMC Memorial Scholarship. This incredible support has transformed the lives of children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen across the greater DC area!

"Every year on Memorial Day, our country pauses to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms we all enjoy each day. At the same time, we should thank the Veterans that served alongside their sisters and brothers and reflect on the sacrifice of the families they left behind," writes General Robert Neller USMC (Ret.) and Scholarship Foundation Chairman.
