Mia Pardieu, D1L Summer Program Associate Mia is a second-year law student at the University of Maine School of Law, and our first associate to join us as part of the D1L Summer Associate Program ̶ an initiative to build a stronger, more diverse community of legal professionals in Maine. As an associate, Mia will be working with the Compliance and Legal Affairs team supporting legal research and experiencing legal practice in Maine. During her internship, Mia hopes to gain hands-on professional experience and learn more about the career paths available within the field of law. Her career aspirations are to hold a position in business or administrative law. “I was intrigued by the fact that Martin’s Point is a not-for-profit because I feel it is unique in the health care industry. Aliyah Bureau, Network Database Specialist Intern Aliyah is a rising senior at the University of Tampa in Florida, where she is pursuing a major in Public Health with a concentration in Health Promotion and Practice, and minors in both Business Administration and Data Analytics. As a Network Database Specialist intern, Aliyah will be supporting strategic projects relating to our provider databases. During her internship, Aliyah hopes to develop real-world skills in the behind-the-scenes work of health care to apply to her future career. Her career aspirations are to become a Data Analyst in a hospital system. “I want to build my career in Maine because the people and the environment, in general, are incredibly supportive, caring, and communicative. Safa Hussein, Health Plan Quality Intern Safa is a rising senior at Bates College in Maine, where she is pursuing a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Philosophy. As a Health Plan Quality intern, Safa will be supporting strategic projects relating to our provider databases. During her internship, Safa hopes to gain non-clinical health care experience that she can one day apply toward her continued education to become a Physician Assistant. Ada Smith, Accounting Intern Ada is a rising junior at Emmanuel College in Massachusetts, where she is pursuing a double major in Accounting and Business Management and a minor in Data Analytics. As an Accounting intern, Ada will be supporting projects that preserve the financial health of Martin's Point, ensuring the business runs smoothly and sustainably. During her internship, Ada hopes to gain hands-on accounting experience, while deepening her understanding of accounting programs and the daily tasks involved in the field. Alexia Smith, Human Resources Intern Alexia is a rising senior at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, where she is pursuing a double major in Marketing and Human Resource Management.
