Big #diabetes news coming through this afternoon as the FDA has cleared the Insulet Corporation Omnipod 5 automated insulin delivery system for the type 2 diabetes population. The expanded indication for Omnipod 5 makes it the first and only automated insulin delivery system FDA-cleared for type 1 and type 2 diabetes. “Today’s announcement represents a significant milestone in providing easy-to-use, patient-centric technology for the treatment of type 2 diabetes,” said Jim Hollingshead, Insulet president and CEO.
