Our program seeks to equip students with the strategic, creative, and analytical skills necessary to build, manage, and evolve impactful brands in a rapidly changing global landscape. Hello, future masters of branding! Welcome to the Big Apple! 🍎✨🎒 As you get ready to start your adventure at SVA, here are some tips to make the most of your time in NYC: 1. Explore the city: Every part of NYC has its own flavor—check out spots like Chelsea for artsy feels or the East Village for that cool, laid-back vibe. Don’t just hit the tourist traps—go off the beaten path and explore! 2. Immerse yourself in culture: Sure, hit up the Met and MoMA, but also keep an eye out for smaller, quirky galleries (Poster House NYC is our neighbour and personal favourite). Attend design meetups, branding workshops, and networking events. Your future BFF or job connection could be right there. 4. Ever wondered what your last meal would be? 🤔 Being a chef by day and Masters in Branding student by night, Max Meighen from the Class of 2024 decided to use his 100-day project to investigate the personalities of fictional characters through food. Each day Max created a curated menu for each of these characters, ranging from SpongeBob Squarepants to Hermione Granger, that reflected their unique quirks and traits. The 100-Day Project began as the brainchild of designer, Michael Bierut, who assigned his students to choose a design operation to repeat every day for 100 days. Now we get our students to participate in the 100-Day project too. Allowing them to self-direct a project that they are passionate about as well as practicing resiliency, consistency, preparedness, and determination.
