🚗 Fun Car History Fact! 🚗 On this day in 1959, Nils Bohlin, an ex-aviation engineer who worked on flight ejection seats, developed a V-shaped, three-point front seat belt for Volvo.  The first customer to benefit from this innovation was a Swedish buyer of a PV544 sedan. However, it took years for this groundbreaking safety device to gain widespread use. The U.S. didn't mandate seat belts until 1968!
