The Extra Mile Award recognizes colleagues who go above and beyond their job duties to create an exceptional patient experience. Our most recent winner is respiratory therapist Peggy Swafford-Lundin. She was nominated by a patient’s family member who wrote, “Peggy immediately observed concerning changes in my aunt’s respiratory status and quickly jumped into action. Within minutes, Peggy had the physician at bedside and X-rays and labs in process. She kept us informed in a kind and reassuring way during a scary time for my family.” In closing, the nomination went on to say, “The extra time Peggy took to make sure our family was taken care of was so very important to us.” Thank you, Peggy, for the compassionate care you provide to our patients and families. Congratulations on your Extra Mile Award. You can nominate a colleague for our Extra Mile Award at https://bit.ly/34OzxkD.

Having a 'ruff' day? This will make you smile! Across our broader health network, HCA Healthcare, we have a successful animal therapy program that serves thousands of patients and colleagues. Facility, service and therapy dogs have touched countless lives and brought smiles to patients, their loved ones and our care teams. Some even have their own badges and earn anniversary pins for their years of service. This #DogDay, join us in celebrating therapy dogs as they spread joy and 'pawsitivity' wherever they go! Are you already a dog owner? Show off your furry friend by sharing a photo below. #PositiveImpact #TherapyDogs
