Metro Caring

Do you know who grows your food? This summer, Mo'Betta Green and Metro Caring invited the community to spend time at Blue Bear Farm and Seeds of Power Unity Farm to meet urban farmers and share a meal. We enjoyed live music, ate delicious food featuring locally-grown produce, and discussed the importance of urban farmers in our local food system. Strong local food systems are necessary to ending hunger at its root so that everyone can have what they need to live healthy lives.

Denver East High School junior Sophia Swanson turned her passion for swimming into an impactful way to give back. To raise funds for our mission, she challenged herself to swim three miles—98 laps—in a little over an hour. With support from her community, she achieved both her fundraising and swimming goals. Her swim-a-thon is a great example of how our community finds creative ways to get involved in ending hunger.  

Fifty years ago, a community came together to help people put nutritious food on the table. Since then, thousands upon thousands of people have pitched in at Metro Caring to ensure there is truly food for all. As we work toward the future our community envisions, it’s time for 50 years of hunger for none. We invite you to our celebratory dinner and fundraiser in a stunning new location with extended festivities. We’ll commemorate 50 years of our mission and celebrate a future without hunger through powerful stories, recognition of change-making leaders, and a culinary tour of diverse foods and refreshments from around our community. #Cornucopia2024
