Kicking off the summer camp season with heartwarming stories of personal growth at the Y! Moments like these remind us of the immense impact our programs have on children's lives. 💪🔔🐴 From Fairview Lake YMCA Camps: Aria started this week feeling very nervous around the horses… but this afternoon she trotted all on her own! At dinner she rang the bell to celebrate this awesome achievement! We’re so proud of you! #YMCA #MakingADifference #Achievement #SummerCamp

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and dad figures in our Y family! Thank you for all you do to keep our families and our community healthy and strong! Did you know that Father’s Day started at the Y? Over 110 years ago, a young woman raised by her single father wanted to celebrate fatherhood. The first Father’s Day celebration was held at the Spokane YMCA on June 19, 1910. #HappyFathersDay

June is Immigrant Heritage Month, and the Y has a long history of helping immigrants integrate into new communities. Did you know: 👉 The Y was the first organization in the U.S. to offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to immigrants. 👉 In the late 1800s, Y immigration secretaries greeted hundreds of thousands of new arrivals at Ellis Island (New York) and Angel Island (San Francisco), helping them locate family members, housing and employment. 👉 In the early 1900s, the YMCA of Greater New York introduced adult night classes to new immigrants. Today, Ys across the country continue to offer adult education programs and have responded to changing demographics by providing refugee services, New American Welcome Centers and more. The Y celebrates these achievements and continued commitment to inclusion during Immigrant Heritage Month and beyond! 🎉 #CelebrateImmigrants #YForAll
