Our Chip Camp with College of Western Idaho was another success story in our summer of STEM! Middle school students from all over the Treasue Valley region in Idaho were able to experience some awesome trade skills like welding, visit Micron Technology to learn about semiconductor manufacturing and even see a Tesla light show! We know that STEM inspiration comes in lots of forms and we take pride in showing students the MANY ways they can get involved in STEM careers of the future!

Last week we were in Atlanta, and this week we are back to Central New York to host our first Chip Camp with Le Moyne College! We also have highlights from our California and Idaho signature programs on the way - stay tuned to enjoy more summer of STEM highlights!
It’s one of our favorite times of the year: Summer program season at Le Moyne College! A highlight of day one was welcoming our newest students from Onondaga Central & Lafayette Central Schools! Also new this year: We are partnering with the Micron Foundation to bring their renowned Chip Camp program to our Middle school students here on campus! This dynamic three-day program aligns perfectly with our program, as it introduces students to the world of semiconductor manufacturing and engineering through hands-on STEM activities. We can’t wait to share all the action with you over the next few weeks 🎉

The first Chip Camp Atlanta of 2024 is in the books! We love to see smiling faces and hands-on STEM activities facilitated by community partnerships and our Micron Technology volunteers!
I am thrilled to share the success of ANOTHER Micron Foundation Chip Camp. In Atlanta, a fantastic collaboration with STE(A)M Truck and the YMCA East Lake location. Over three days, students dove into the world of electronics, engaging in hands on activities like creating and building circuits and soldering. It was inspiring to see so many young minds light up with curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored the wonders of technology. Our dedicated Micron Technology engineers and enthusiastic interns were on hand to guide and mentor the students. Thank you Marsha Francis, Ph.D., the STE(A)M Truck Team, and the YMCA East Lake for partnering with us to make this event possible. Together we are paving the way for the next generation of innovators and problem solvers. #microntechnology #ChipCamp #FutureEngineers #STEAMTruck #YMCAEastLake

June was a very busy month for us here at the Foundation, and our global reach expanded even further into a new country, and a new community!! Proud to see Robert Simmons III, our dedicated team members, partners and volunteers bring access to STEM education and hands on learning to students near our newest Micron Technology site in Guadalajara, Mexico!
One of the most impressive things about community engagement isn’t what you teach young people, but what young people teach you…and what Syracuse and Central New York have taught us at Micron Foundation and Micron Technology. Our STEM collaborations throughout North America aim to bring young people together. Whether it’s Guadalajara, Mexico, Boise, Atlanta, or North Syracuse, the future of STEM is bright!!!

Great work being down in at our Micron Technology offices in San Jose! Kudos to the team for hosting such a great event, tour and opportunity for students to get their hands on STEM! #stemeducation #MicronGives
Another Micron Foundation signature STEM program in the books. Honored to have partnered with Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) to expand Career Chats into Careers in a High-Tech World where students from The Foundation for Hispanic Education joined us at the San Jose Micron office yesterday for a day filled with learning about semiconductors and STEM through a site tour and tie-dye chromography activity (led by Cathy Ammirati), enjoying delicious locally sourced food from our cafe (Compass Group), and listening to our inspiring employees chat about their career and life journeys. Thank you to SVEF and the awesome Micron crew behind the scenes and in front that make it possible. We recently hosted the second edition of Micron Chip Camp in Singapore, this time, exclusively for girls and it is the perfect time to highlight these students as we celebrate International Women in Engineering Day! The future is bright with these girls as a part of it! Our programs like this help to increase access to STEM education for girls and ultimately boost women's participation in STEM fields. We are on a mission to inspire the next generation of female leaders, engineers and changemakers in semiconductor technology. While at Chip Camp, the campers learnt about binary and logic gates, memory chip fabrication, microcontrollers, and coding through fun, hands-on activities. They visited Micron Technology's state-of-the-art fabrication plant and saw how the world's most advanced memory and storage solutions are made. A big thank you to the Science Centre Singapore for their collaboration and all volunteers and mentors who made this camp possible, including Cher Whee Sim, Kok Sing Chen, Gianpaolo Mettifogo and Antara Lahiri #MicronChipCamp #MicronFoundation #STEMeducation #WomenInSTEM #MicronGives #INWED24

Thank you for sharing your mission to make a difference in Germany, Sven! We are grateful to our volunteers all around the world who are uplifting their communities and expanding access to STEM for students with our partners like Deutsches Museum!
STEM isn’t boring, through our #MicronGives volunteer program Matthias Herbst and myself we had the chance to join the classes in the Deutsches Museum. Special thanks to Jutta Schlögl and her team for the exciting experiments. #Micron #MicronGives

Yesterday at our Micron Technology headquarters in Boise, ID we welcomed some of the residents from the Idaho State Veterans Home to tour our site! With special planning with the home’s leadership and wonderful staff, along with members of our Veterans Employee Resource Group (VERG), DEI team, and Micron experts, we were able to create a special engagement to celebrate the past and show them the bright future of Micron! VERG recently received an award from the organization for their volunteer service last year (over 265 hours spent!) so we were excited to show the Veterans where our volunteers work and what Micron makes. It is community collaborations like this that truly demonstrate how our mission to make a difference brings joy to our volunteers and the connections they make by supporting causes they truly care about. #MicronGives

Part of Micron Technology’s mission is to enrich life for all, and here at the Micron Foundation, we are proud to support partnerships and programs that do that! In Italy, we recently supported a first-of-its-kind inclusive internship program in Abruzzo. Seven autistic students obtained internships at the local office of the Italian Tax Authority, allowing them to experience a real and structured work environment and acquire useful skills to approach the world of work. This was made possible thanks to collaboration among several entities: the Autismo Abruzzo onlus associazione regionale that designed the project together with Micron, and enabled connections in the territory including the local high school "I.I.S. Amedeo d’Aosta" in L’Aquila. The school supported the project with specialized teachers who aided the students' participation in the program at the Italian Tax Authority. Thank you to all involved – we invite you to check out this local interview to learn more and hear from Micron Gives ambassador, Manuela Seminara. https://lnkd.in/gtzkF8Rc
