We have an exciting announcement! Together, alongside resident leaders from Hough and Central, MidTown Cleveland, Inc. (MTC) is releasing an RFP that has been years in the making. For the better part of a decade, our organization has been working with community members to remember and reflect on the legacy of black entrepreneurs, community leaders, and neighbors and the ways they shaped our community and the broader near eastside. In recent years, much of this work has culminated into a desire to make significant movement towards a district where black life, art, culture, and entrepreneurship is prioritized and physically represented in a variety of ways. The primary purpose of this RFP is to undergo a master planning process with current stakeholders and the broader community for a comprehensive and cohesive plan for three nodes; E 55th, E 66th, and E 75th. This process would include community engagement, a feasibility study for the E 75th Street development project, and the creation of a master plan that ties all three nodes together, which the neighborhood and MTC will work to implement over time. MTC is looking for teams experienced in planning and public art, community engagement, real estate, and architecture. The contract for this initiative will last up to a year starting in January 2025. See more details about our timeline below. This work has been championed by residents and stewarded by MidTown Cleveland, Inc. with generous support from The Cleveland Foundation. We are excited to hear from applicants over the course of the next month. As a Marketing Manager, it's essential to be a bridge between our organization and the community we serve! Today, I had the privilege of bringing the MidTown Cleveland, Inc. team to a segment on New Day Cleveland to share the excitement of the Mid Autumn Festival in AsiaTown. By connecting with local media and creating community events, we can raise awareness of our work, foster positive relationships, and ultimately make a greater impact. Let's Recap the CTSC Event on AAPI Health! Last Thursday, we joined an insightful discussion about the challenges faced by the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community due to language barriers in healthcare. The event, hosted by the CTSC at Li Wah Restaurant, featured a screening of PBS Hidden Barriers segments and a panel discussion. Our very own Feiran Yang from our AsiaTown team joined a distinguished panel of experts, including: - Rothy Rim, Research Program Manager, Cleveland Clinic - Ye-Fan Wang Glavin Case Western Reserve University - Jacob Hill ND, MS, FABNO, Cleveland Clinic - David Vincent, DC, University Hospitals Connor Whole Health Key Takeaways: - Language Barriers: The discussion highlighted the significant challenges faced by AAPI communities due to language barriers in accessing healthcare services. - Cultural Sensitivity: The importance of culturally sensitive communication and building trust with patients was emphasized. - Integrative Health: Integrative health approaches were explored as a potential avenue to bridge these gaps and improve health outcomes. Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in this important conversation and Gelise Thomas, JD, MS for creating a space for us. We're committed to continuing our efforts to address the needs of the AAPI community. Photos by: McKinley Wiley

The Midtown Kickball Tournament was a home run! This beloved community event returned to raise funds for our vital work in AsiaTown, MidTown, and the Hough neighborhood. We're incredibly grateful to Hermes Sports and the Baseball Heritage Museum for their partnership in making this tournament possible. A special thank you to our generous sponsors: Cleveland Foundation, Dealer Tire, Cushman & Wakefield | CRESCO Real Estate, Abeona Therapeutics, and Signet Real Estate Group. Your support is what makes our community initiatives a reality. And of course, none of this would be possible without the enthusiasm and participation of our neighbors. We're already looking forward to next season's tournament at League Park on August 22, 2025. Save the date and join us for another fun-filled day of kickball, community, and fundraising!

We love the chances we get to celebrate our young scholars in the neighborhood as they head into a new school year! 🚌 📓 Last Saturday, we hosted our back-to-school event and connected over 100 families with school supplies as they head into the new year. Thanks to our neighbors, @gatewaydowntown, @cuyahogahousing, @clevelandpubliclibrary and Citizens Development for the school supplies donations that made this back-to-school transition all the more seamless. Our vendors added so much to celebration as well with a great meal, field-day games with prizes, and good music. 🎒✏️ We're cheering our young people on and excited to find more ways to support as they work towards their goals. Our neighborhood is better because of them and we're excited to continue building relationships with our families across MidTown, Hough, and AsiaTown. 🧡 📙 A huge shoutout to our amazing partner, @Magnet, for hosting! Your support made a huge difference. 🎉📚
