Yesterday Midtown and Metro Engineering Apprenticeship students were graciously welcomed to Hollister Incorporated. The team gave our students a comprehensive tour of their Research and Development facility, explained the science behind their products, shared valuable career insights, and even treated everyone to lunch! Hollister's mission—to make life more rewarding and dignified for the people who use their products and services—beautifully aligns with Midtown-Metro's commitment to embracing the inherent dignity of each person. We are so grateful to the entire Hollister team for their Hospitality, with special thanks to Metro alumna and former staff member Gisselle Contreras, Metro Advancement Council Member Dr. Aman. K. Yesterday at Metro, we had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with sisters Janine Hill, PhD and Melanie Hill , who shared their knowledge and wisdom with our Business Apprenticeship program students. Melanie, an MBA graduate with over 20 years of experience in marketing, product innovation, digital transformation, and brand management, and Janine, a dedicated consultant and coach with a doctorate in philosophy, shared their experiences and provided invaluable insights. They particularly emphasized the importance of prioritizing authenticity and finding the right mentor in professional life. A huge thank you to Melanie and Janine for taking the time to inspire and be such great role models for our students. #WeAreMidtownMetro #ChicagoNonProfit

An amazing and insightful event!

Proud leader moment. I'm so proud of my colleague Daniel Matamoros, MEd, MFT, CEPF®, FAAC®, PhD Candidate, who runs our Midtown Achievement Center for boys, for having the vision and courage to create and host our first Juneteenth event. Some stakeholders were worried that this might be awkward for our Hispanic population, some thought we were not black enough, and some thought this might come across as too progressive/woke. As our keynote speaker Johnnie L. Campbell, M.Ed noted, "Black History is American History." It is our job to educate our students and families—to live a Christian spirit and to be bold in building community by learning about our different life and cultural stories in order to respect our differences and find shared values. And what better way to start than by sitting down at the table together to share a meal and celebrate? #leadership #courage #respect #celebrating employees

Yesterday, Midtown hosted its inaugural Juneteenth Celebration for staff students and family members. Thank you to our keynote speaker Johnnie L.
