A new organ recovery procedure called normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) is improving transplantation outcomes. NPR Health Correspondent Rob Stein gave listeners an unprecedented look inside an operating room with Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) to help audiences understand NRP and how it holds the promise of saving more lives. Many thanks to NPR and Rob Stein for highlighting this game-changing procedure and the work of the OPO network on the front lines of organ donation. #GiveHopeShareLife Listen here https://n.pr/4eVMQib

We are pleased to announce that our President and CEO, Jan Finn, received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Annual Meeting of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO). Jan began her career as a registered nurse in Joplin, Missouri. Since joining Midwest Transplant Network (MTN) in 1990, she has been a pioneer in organ donation, promoting collaboration, data-driven strategies and continuous improvement. Under her leadership, MTN has implemented innovative programs and established itself as a leader in the field. Jan's influence extends beyond MTN. "She is truly deserving of this Lifetime Achievement Award," says Steve Miller, AOPO’s CEO. She has served as president of AOPO and the North American Transplant Coordinators Organization, been a member of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network Board of Directors, and chaired the Donation Board of Trustees for MTF Biologics. Her dedication to the organ procurement community is unparalleled. Please join us in congratulating Jan on this well-deserved honor!

Signing up to become a donor can save lives and bring hope to those on the transplant waiting list and their families. Join the registry here: https://lnkd.in/gYeJvGJD
