As AI and modeling become bigger parts of how we do pretty much everything, George Box’s famous quote rings truer than ever. In market research and beyond, it’s not about creating the perfect model. It’s about using imperfect models to get a clearer picture of the world and to make smarter decisions. Despite their limitations, these models still yield powerful insights that help us drive meaningful impact. #marketresearch #AI #datadriven #insights

Newtopia Now is less than 2 weeks away! We’re always up for a gathering of those of us working with the natural foods industry — and all the better that the next one is in our very own Denver. This one-of-a-kind, first-run event is happening in a few weeks, and I (along with a few Mindsighters) am gonna be there. Would love, love to connect with you while we’re there. Shoot me a message or an email -- let’s catch up while we meander through what I'm sure will be many, many tasting booths. And as a shameless plug — we’ll be speaking at the Forum For Naturals Summit at Newtopia (August 25th, see below for the link to details!) about research we've done regarding the role of e-commerce subscriptions in CPG businesses. We're seriously excited to share our findings with you. Forum for Naturals Info: https://bit.ly/3SpW8JF Newtopia Now Info: https://lnkd.in/g3wQZjRG

Service, not software 👏 We'll get you the expertise of custom research at the cost of DIY. Questions? Give us a shout. We'd love to show you what we can do. [email protected]

A couple of reasons why DIY research is not what it seems. We've had several clients come to us lately looking for solutions to problems in their DIY data. If you can't trust your data, you can't make important business decisions. And if you're using a DIY platform...odds are, you can't trust your data. Not that every DIY platform is bad. While some definitely have sample quality issues (that’s another story for another time), that's not always the case. But if you don't know what you're doing with that software, you can make some very costly mistakes. I think we’d all rather not make costly mistakes. Let’s make good, informed decisions using clear and actionable data — with expert service, not software.

We're hiring! We're on the hunt for a new insight manager to join the #nerdherd, preferably located in Denver, LA, or Phoenix. We're pretty stoked about bringing on some new talent, so if you've got any friends, family, or connections that like consumer research and having a good time, send 'em our way!

If your research reports don't have those letters, you'll want to be careful about making decisions with that data. Stat testing adds validity to your research and confidence to your decisions. Little letters = a lot of confidence. Questions about stat testing? Give us a shout!

Stat testing is vital to the field of market research. It's what gives research its validity – and yet it can often be misunderstood by clients and researchers alike. Have any questions about statistical testing or statistical significance? Give us a shout!

Good data > bad data. That much might be obvious...but the trick is spotting it!👏👏👏

Ever wonder whether your data is really, truly accurate? All too often, data quality (or more precisely, the lack thereof) can muddle the accuracy of your insights. The tragedy here is that bad data is preventable. And in most cases, it's as simple as keeping your eyes out for obvious signs. Just for fun, I pulled together a few of our favorite quick tips for ensuring data quality. These are just some simple practices – but you'd be surprised by how often these are overlooked. Make sure your research providers are controlling for data quality...after all, who wants to make big decisions with bad data? (No one. No one wants to make ANY decisions with bad data.)
