But students transferring to a private college for their bachelor’s degrees are tapping into resources to personalize their education plan and take the next step to reach their career goals. We talked with students who transferred to Augsburg University, The College of St. Scholastica and Hamline University before heading onto grad school. https://lnkd.in/gfrqVXPw #TransferStudents #LiberalArts #Minnesota #HigherEd #GradSchool

Thank you for celebrating the Phillips Scholars Program's 30th Anniversary with the Minnesota Private College Fund! Thank you to our wonderful host Irma Márquez Trapero, and everyone who joined us for the evening! We appreciate everyone who joined us in the festivities, including U.S. Representative Dean Phillips, R.T. Rybak, the The Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota, and The Minneapolis Foundation. It was wonderful to reconnect with alumni, campus coordinators and program supporters. The 2023-24 cohort shared their phenomenal projects, and we welcomed the 2024-25 cohort. We are grateful for the Phillips Scholars community. Thank you for being part of this amazing event! Bachelor’s degrees not only lead to good careers and higher earnings, but they also set people up for additional education, which leads to even better careers and earnings. Even accounting for the cost of education and not working while getting an education, investing in a college degree pays off according to the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce’s Learning and Earning by Degrees study. The Minnesota Legislature concluded in May with passage of some measures and others not making it to the finish line. The Promise Equalization Scholarship proposal, which would have increased financial aid for low- and middle-income students at private colleges, unfortunately didn’t pass. On the policy side, there were some successes this session for private nonprofit colleges and their students. https://lnkd.in/gRjpY2NE #Minnesota #HigherEd #HigherEducation #LiberalArts #MnLeg

Hands-on learning happens well beyond the classroom at Minnesota private colleges — from community engagement or off-campus field trips to study away and abroad programs. We checked in with our member colleges for examples of what students were learning off campus and where they ventured during the last academic year: https://lnkd.in/gE6T7SEx #StudyAway #StudyAbroad #Minnesota #LiberalArts #HigherEd #HigherEducation
