We’re excited to spotlight some of the incredible programs brought to life by Laureus Sport for Good’s Empower Girls Programme as we celebrate women in sports being #HeretoStay. Today we are showcasing Sport For Good Cities, specifically Sport For Good City Paris. Sport for Good City Paris is one of 8 locations of Laureus Sport for Good Cities initiative - an innovative approach to global social change launched in New Orleans in 2014 aimed at empowering communities through the transformative power of sport. Each Sport for Good City forms a coalition of local leaders and community members to address key areas such as empowering women and girls, improving social cohesion, enhancing education and increasing employment access. Since its inception, Sport for Good Paris has impacted over 6,857 young people, 38% of whom are young women. Of these participants 52% of girls and women in sports programs reported increased self-confidence and 94% of participants felt more included in their communities.
